a very good friend of mine that i still play magic with bought a complete Unlimited set of mox's and the rest of the power 9 just to hold to sell later. Cost him a good chunk of money but if he sold it now he would make 3-5k on his investment already.

My brother in law sold his cards to get through college. Easily worth more today, but ya know.

Condition can heavily influence. Pre Covid I would have said go to nearest GP (magic fest) and get quotes from multiple vendors there. Not sure what the best way to do nowadays.

Online vendors will likely give you a quote based upon pictures. You don't have to sell to the same vendor after getting a quote, i.e. if you prefer selling in person to make sure you get the money when you hand over the cards.

I well remember trading a Mox Ruby, Time Twister and Ali From Cairo to some dude on Usenet for a Black Lotus. Simultaneous mailing but I never got it rant. A helpful community member has volunteered to assist me smile.

Time for adventures in Arena again, as I've been having fun in Constructed for the first time in a while with this Historic (essentially everything on Arena: Kaladesh-forward plus some random cards from Jumpstart, Historic Anthologies, and the random cards added to Amonkhet Remastered, minus some of the Kaladesh/Amonkhet cards and the banned list):

Companion
1 Jegantha, the Wellspring (IKO) 222

Deck
1 Blast Zone (WAR) 244
4 Botanical Sanctum (KLR) 281
4 Breeding Pool (RNA) 246
4 Chromatic Sphere (JMP) 462
4 Emry, Lurker of the Loch (ELD) 43
6 Forest (SLD) 108
6 Island (SLD) 102
4 Karn, the Great Creator (WAR) 1
4 Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy (IKO) 192
4 Llanowar Elves (DAR) 168
4 Mind Stone (WTH) 153
3 Mox Amber (DAR) 224
3 Paradox Engine (KLR) 259
4 Tamiyo, Collector of Tales (WAR) 220
2 Tangled Florahedron (ZNR) 211
3 Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath (THB) 229

Sideboard
2 Aether Gust (M20) 42
1 Aether Spellbomb (JMP) 456
1 Aetherflux Reservoir (KLR) 217
1 Ancestral Statue (JMP) 458
1 God-Pharaoh's Gift (AKR) 272
1 Jegantha, the Wellspring (IKO) 222
1 Meteor Golem (JMP) 474
1 Mox Amber (DAR) 224
2 Mystical Dispute (ELD) 58
1 Paradox Engine (KLR) 259
1 Ratchet Bomb (SOM) 196
1 Skysovereign, Consul Flagship (KLR) 272
1 Sorcerous Spyglass (ELD) 233

The list is entirely stock, but of course someone who mostly played Ironworks before it was banned in Modern was going to pick the artifact combo deck. The basic combo is to use Emry+Paradox Engine to cast infinite spells (infinite mana, cards, or both) then winning off Aetherflux Reservoir, but there are a surprising number of ways to win beyond that:
  • Looping Tamiyos to get infinite spells for the Reservoir
  • Animating Paradox Engine with Karn, either for defense or offense
  • Beating down with mana elves, most often alongside Jegantha

It has a ton of weaknesses--Thoughtseize is in the format, the Goblin deck is way too fast, and counterspells exist--but it's fun, and it feels like I'm ready to start tuning it (particularly the sideboard, as there are a lot of wish targets I haven't used--and for that matter I'm only playing in Bo1, so the spells don't matter).

Is arena less buggy now? When i last played it it was a heaping pile of shit

I’ve basically never experienced bugs.

I haven't experienced many serious bugs, but others have--it seems like it's better, but YMMV

Someone put together a Legacy Blue Midrange deck generator: https://www.bluestew.net/

It works fairly well at its role. None of the decks are what you'd want to take to a high-stakes tournament, but they're capable of going 5-0 in a league. They'll often include coherent packages - I've seen Worldgorger Dragon + Entomb/Animate Dead, Green Sun's Zenith + a solid package of targets, Yorion lists, etc.

And of course Uro and Oko are ubiquitous.

Well that's disappointing. I thought it would ask you a few questions about what you wanted the deck to do well against and then slide in appropriate packages to form a deck.
