Double-Fun - pitboss game (14)

As I said, I do not think anyone would attempt a diplomatic victory anyway, so I am indifferent. I am just saying that there are many defenses to it - so I am not sure it should be banned.

BTW, has anybody ever achieved a religious (AP) victory in any of RB PBs or PBEMs?

Yeah, and it was because people threw the game. And no, there aren't actually defences against it, not if you are banning city gifting.

You can always spread AP religion aggressively - which have its own benefits - to prevent AP owner having majority. If city gifting is allowed, you can gift away AP religion city. If it is not allowed, you allies can capture it.

Prevention is even better - you can close borders with players who may spread AP religion. Or run civics that do not allow non-state religion spread. AP victory does not happen immediately - I thought defenses are reasonable?

BTW, does simply razing AP works, too? lolmischief

Hey, play the game with whatever rules you want. You'll find that a large proportion of the gameplay may be rather unpleasant for some of the players, but if you don't care for that...

I just said I am indifferent personally, because I do not believe it would happen. Have to read the game to which you referred me, with AP victory.

We wil play whatever rules the majority of the player would like - I was just explaining why I am not worried about AP victory - perhaps mistakenly :D.

Pitboss 1 included some cheese city gifting to prevent cheese AP win lol. PBEM26 had the most controlversial AP win and PBEM 17 ended also to AP win, but that game was probably worth ending at that point.

Summary of the settings votes so far:

A) Rules 1-9: everybody agrees smile (DMOC wanted further refinement and clarification on city gifting and peaceful double moves)
B) Emperor:2 Monarch: 2 Abstain: 2
C) Scout: 5 Default: 0 All warrior wink: 1
D) Sneak peek before snake: Yes 3 No 2 Abstain 1

We are still waiting for two teams to state their preferences. If they will not let us know by 8th of Aug I will assume they are OK with whatever majority wants wink.

If that is the case, the Majority currently wants:

Quote:* Rules 1-9
* Everybody starting with scout
* Plako deciding difficulty between Emperor and Monarch
* Plako starting to work on a map August 8th and showing us starting positions before snake pick begins

Team Blame Caledorn would also like to vote to ban AP Diplo Victories, at least. I have a slight preference for banning all resolutions, but I can live with the others if we ban Diplo Victories.

Also, we prefer Monarch difficulty, but if the end result is to let Plako decide, we're ok with that too (since we think he'll choose Monarch tongue)

Thanks.

I had you at "let Plako decide" because of your earlier vote. But your illegal attempt to influence Plako's decision is noted wink mischief.

What do we think about banning AP victory and resolutions, while keeping AP wonder in the game?

Blame Caledorn votes: Yes
M & M: sides with majority
