Food is part of production, which comes after research, unless you are building wealth or research in which case it becomes part of the research phase. The granary thing is not a bug and would not be needed if hammers came before food. Food and hammers are produced at the same time. It's too complicated for me to bother explaining right now beyond that.

Nah, you don't have to bother with that. I knew the order (or at least the parts that are important) at some point in time. Just forgot most of it by now. And yes the granary-thing is not a bug, but I thought granary bug sounded better than granary thing - or at least made it clearer what I meant. It worked too, going by your answer :P

Also completely unrelated to the game (but I'm home today and no turn is to be played as we wait for Donovan): We are nearly winning the post-count-battle. 382 against 385 of taotao. Krill has 380. Seems if I would just report every 5th turn we could win easily. Oh well.

Yeah well, I think we can scratch MoM as well. taotao is chopping 4 forests in a city he just settled so he is trying to get some wonder and I don't think there is any other wonder at this point in time I would expect him to try to get. Unfortunately we are in no position to prevent that from happening.
He also has 11 cities, probably highest crop and GNP. And Donovan seems to have missed expansion and given taotao no fight for the land there as well.
Of course I suppose taotao could go for some other wonder (GW?) just to get culture in and overwhelm Donovans border city down the line with it, but I somehow doubt that. I mean he might do that, but probably with MoM.

And how exactly do you build it with four forests in a new city?

Well, we only see the 4. The rest is in fog IIRC. So I assume he has more there than those 4.

Uh, he's chopping neutral forests with bare workers. Why shouldn't / can't we do anything about that? That is extremely offensive. Why not move units out of Mogor?
And you know the tech ETA just dropped one turn, why didn't we move workers differently? Should we just stop thinking and retire to AI? If you're playing the turns, you need to recognize when the situation changes. Whatever.

I'm not sure if starting a war with the strongest competitor over neutral forests in an area that we have no foothold in and with our mostly defensive units is really in our best interest.

edit: Shouldn't answer something like that at work. Anyhow, I didn't realize that the ETA dropped by a turn, especially as it is EOT90 currently even though your sign states EOT89. I guess EOT89 it will be with some more cottages matured or commerce-tiles worked (we miss ~13 beakers currently). But tbh I can't even now figure out how you wanted to do it, even with a turn more.

Found a way to do it, though it is ugly. Do you wanna discuss it or should it simply set it up?
