It's not just that diplomacy takes time to do, it's the effect it has on the game with NAPs, which is why some people prefer not to play with it.

Initially the idea was 2 civs per team. But by the looks of it, we may have too many players for that idea, at least if we want to get more experienced players on board?

Sorry, Cal - I missed that lol I think 2 player per civ - that is a mini-team would be much more manageable. Just regular civ game with the educational aspect of hopefully Mentor-Mente pairing plus spoilers threads to compare different approaches - and have fun reading them, of course. As you may remember, Cal, we wanted to organized such Mentor-Mente game on CFC once, but did not have enough people.

EDIT: Touched bases with Cal again and it is 1 civ per 1 team of 2 players.

Yes, it is somewhat different game with diplo on and off. Which is why some other people prefer to play with diplo on wink.

So far nobody who signed up had any problems with diplo - actually, to the best of my knowledge they all enjoy diplo wink and many are currently playing civ games with diplo full on - which are very different from "diplogames", btw. Jowy actually said the diplo on would be a compelling reason for him to join, if he only had time frown.

I think Plako stated it best:

Tech trading is definitely off smile.

Thanks for the invite Maga_R but I don't really have time to for Diplo by itself not to mention Diplo and a joint civ. Glad to see you already have so much interest though.

Hi 1889, the idea was 2 players playing 1 civ together - which I thought would be less work than playing solo - but as we discussed, solo players are also welcome smile

To clarify, this is not a diplogame, just a civ game with no restrictions on diplo, like "AI diplo only" . In other words, this game would be considered "normal" at CFC lol.

Yeah, that's an important point to make, just as a clarification. Full diplo does not mean a diplomacy game with roleplaying. It means discussing treaties, alliances etc with other teams. I'm guessing most people already realise this, but just so it's perfectly clear I wanted to mention it.
As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master. - Commissioner Pravin Lal, "U.N. Declaration of Rights"
