Are you, in fact, a pregnant lady who lives in the apartment next door to Superdeath's parents? - Commodore

Could play a team game: newbs vs a vet. I don't think this has been done, but could be quite fun. Presumably the team would have to play on a higher difficulty, but maybe even not. 3v1 I think might just be doable with no handicap on a reasonable map.

Talking RtR mod. As it helps balance smile

but... does balancing really matter on noob level? and i know BTS isnt perfectly balanced but imho still very playable, and easier?

I actually find rtr to be easier. Because if you play bts and you choose anything but financial... its a bad idea. Its just a better way to play imo.

Yeah I could do a 4 pitboss, if that's what folks prefer. If a 6 game comes up I'll be sorely tempted to try and play both, and maybe tank my competence in the process, but 4 is fun too. I did one pitboss elsewhere, oh, 5 years ago? and liked how turn scheduling works. Shame 5 and 6 didn't keep it around since team games can already run parallel turns

As far as the noobs vs vet.. could always just give the noobs better land and not have them "teamed"?

The problem is that there are different types of "newbs". Someone who struggles on Noble and a Deity-level player who never played MP both fall under this definition.

If they are teamed it alleviates some of.the difference. Agree with Krill that giving the vet an extra settler and a worker or similar would be a better handicap than difficulty.
