Fair point, well I still think I'm better served having a turn or two of 0% to then go to max science for the last turns of the Golden Age, just no point in waiting another turn after next for that bonus then

If this "stack" is coming at me then C-H is just completely and utterly clueless

Lets look at the many things wrong with this picture.

1. The army has no road network by the looks of things so will take 3-4 turns minimum to be outside either of my cities

2. There is ONE catapult... so he's either going to bombard forever (which surely is too stupid for anyone) or take shots at my units behind cultural defenses

3) I have been able to see this stack move because of my galley so there is no possibility of surprise. Plus I have a chariot in his lands that can easily check for reinforcements.

4) I will have longbows, maces and catapults to defend plus some outdated trash for collateral bait.

5) He can't fork my cities and I will have engineering so can use the majority of my forces to defend at whatever city he chooses to go for.

6) I have an abundance of pop to whip if need be - plus Qarth has decent production that is still boosted by a Golden Age so if needed I can have walls plus more longbows pretty quickly

7) He is so far behind in tech - including military tech that its insane given he got a super-potential city from B4ndit early on with next to no initial costs.

8) I have not done a thing wrong to him this game, even given him an excess luxury to help with happiness during his war with eastway

So if he's doing this to me, he can't have a single good reason.

Why not attack B4ndit who he warred with in the early game and is now being attacked by eastway?

Or why not build up a stack that is actually credible and try and attack eastway when peace runs out if he wants to indulge in some pseudo-erotic suicidal wank-fantasy of attacking someone for little to no benefit?

I have really grown to love my Sumeria pick in this game.

My early courthouses have given me a massive EP advantage where I've been able to track the research of everyone for the best part of 20 turns now while masking my research progress from everyone until I fully research the techs.

As such, I've been able to sneak up and get within a turn of Liberalism, then sandbag it to pick up Alphabet and Banking and now I've pinched it from under the nose of eastway (he had 1 turn to go) and will likely pick up Printing Press with it (though Economics is tempting too, to steal the merchant from AT). I have so many villages and towns that Printing Press will be a real boon.

I will likely need some more land soon - will have to keep an eye on C-H to see if he's about to fold. But I am pretty secure with a strong economy (prob the strongest outside of a golden age) and I have the Great Wall and soon the Statue of Zeus (now I checked it was unbanned) which, along with me pretty strong military (soon to have Gunpowder), will make me a pain to conquer.

I'll try and do a full update soon if I can.

Oh by the way, with regards to my last post - C-H marched his army pretty much up to my borders, saw my defensive units in place and ran away and attacked eastway instead - which after a Great General per side, has ended in peace already. He's now focusing on defending against AT. Am tempted to gift him a few longbows to help but not sure if jumping in might be a better option.
