Can you accept deals like that or are they just gone? And by "log out" do you mean kill the process, or is there a gentler way?

There's no gentler way, and the deal is just gone, you can't accept. But if you're going to decline anyway it's a good way to handle it.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

Although you don't know if there are more deals than just 1 being offered..

Somebody really needs to make a gosh-danged mod to fix this recurrent problem. Just sayin'.

Seriously! I wonder if it's something like them making the diplo pop-up a modal piece of code off in its own place, away from where the state where keyboard handling (like the pause key) takes place, and then it could be extremely hard to fix.

For me just logging out worked previously, no need to kill the process from the task manager.

Even if that's the case there has to be a way to delay the appearance of the diplomacy screen so that it isn't the first thing you see when you log in. For instance, make it kind of like all the popups you'd get with the "minimize popups" (or whatever it's called) open enabled. Those don't cause problems when you log in. So what if you've built 10 granaries that turn, you can unpause the game and then deal with them. As long as you didn't click on the popup that took you to the (presumably still modal because we don't want to rewrite the whole thing) diplo screen I don't see why you'd have to get stuck if you unpaused before you went in. And if there was some way to bulletproof the proposed diplo screen popup that would be even nicer...like the game could alert the player if it was paused and warn against clicking (or refuse to open) the diplo screen, or any other modal window (are there others?).

Anyway I don't program so it's easy for me to spitball ideas without having any clue how someone would actually implement them, never mind whether they're even possible given the existing code base. But if someone managed to solve this persistent pitboss foible that would be godly.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

Hurray, it actually works. lol I wasn't sure after someone said that it didn't work earlier. I guess you need to make sure to press decline before logging out.

If there are multiple deals you can repeat with all the subsequent deals, one at a time. wink
