I think it is an overreaction to slam Messi as an awful human being for missing one kid offering a handshake when he's in the zone prior to a match - he probably never even saw the kid.

I think both Messi and Ronaldo is sort of Barcelona and Real Madrid in microcosm. Basically, Real Madrid and Ronaldo are loathsome entities but they have no illusions about what they are. Barcelona and Messi are exactly the same, but they like to pretend they stand for something greater, blah blah blah.
Personally, I prefer Madrid's authentic brand of crap to Barcelona's gold-painted turd.

Given the results of this WC Ronaldo would have been better off ignoring the kid and concentrating more on the game.
Lets face it the few minutes before the starting whistle are rather stressful and people react different to this stress. Barca is better - They never had Mourinho as coach and Kaka as player
