Only seven Real Madrid managers in their 103 year history have lasted three seasons. Johnson, Bru, Munoz, Miljanic, Beenhakker, del Bosque, and Mourinho shakehead. They've had 10 managers since Florentino got rid of del Bosque in 2003 duh.

What do you get when you combine two of the most hated sports teams in the world? The newest MLS franchise of course!

Yankees are like the opposite of Man City though, they're far more like Utd.

Totally agree w/Krill re: Moyes. He's just Fat Sam with a better reputation - good at managing underachievers. There's nothing in how his Everton teams that suggests he has any idea how to manage a team that plays the kind of football Man U supporters will demand or how to beat good teams. I think it was a pretty uninspired choice.

Are there any Sp*rs fans on this board, just wanted to apologize for not wishing them a Happy St. Totts. wink

I know nothing about baseball - are the Yankees old money with sense of entitlement and ego to match? I like how baffled City fans still are about it all...

I like Moyes for Utd by the way, either a pretty decent guy succeeds or he kills a club that is teetering on the brink of bankruptcy and deserves to go bust.

Apology accepted. I knew they'd blow it. Even as a Spurs fan its hard to begrudge the Arse a CL spot. MUFC and Chelsea can go die in a fire though.

I'm not sure I'm getting across how much I dislike those two clubs.

Yeah, the Yankees are definitely Old Money with entitlement and ego. The perfect analogue would be if Man Utd had Liverpool's history, but you get the idea.

You have to go pretty far down the table to find the next club I have little or no antipathy for. I guess Everton, but that's mostly because they were no threat. I also felt bad about relegating Wigan, since they play actual football unlike a certain team of Orcs that Krill support, for example. I've oscillated over the years who I hate the most of the MUFC, MCFC, CFC triumvirate, so I can relate. Probably CFC simply because at least MCFC was a well-supported club before they hit the Shiekh lottery.

Anyway, it'll ruin my reputation if I'm seen having a reasonable conversation with a Sp*rs fan so I'll stop here. wink

I was waiting for you Gaspar, I thought you'd be posting about getting totally wasted after finding out Pulis, the former 2nd longest serving manager in the league (SRSLY), was fired.

It's okay as long as you're slagging off another team.

Krill - will Stoke do a Charlton-post-Curbishley or use all the money they have a bit more wisely?

No idea. It's pretty much down to the manager, I'm not even sure they need many new players. But who the fuck wants to work at Stoke? I suppose they can live in Cheshire where all the bigjobs from Manchester live and commute...Stokes a work in progress, once all the improvements are done to the stadium it can fit 30K which is pretty much all it will ever have to hold, the Academy needs to get up to speed over the next 15 years as well. The aim is literally just about trying to sit in the EPL and be a feeder team to the top 6, without being relegation fodder.

You're right on the Yankees.

On Utd. the financial problems are probably worse than being reported. Over the course of a summer they went from having £900m of debt with most of the c. £125m interest being rolled over each year to having only £500m debt eith much lower interst without showing how they could have paid it off. Giving how the offshored the club to the Caymans I fear the Glazers have done an Enron with the debts. On top of that you've owners whose only source of income is raiding the club's current a/c.

Well, if they want an academy, they should work more scientist specialists.
