I get the feeling that even if luddite were to agree to a GS for peace with Ioan, mackoti wouldn't honor it.

That would be Athlete-using-Slaze's-army-against-Slaze level of evilness in diplomacy.

Query: Is it legal to sell GG if it is not legal to trade units that have GG attached to them? Isn't it exactly the same thing?

Maybe stipulate that these GGs can't be attached to a unit, only settled or military academied. While GG, theo, rax, stables, vassalage gives you natural lvl 4 units, I think that's a sufficient barrier to entry. What do you think?

There's no rule against trading units, though I guess one might be needed in relation to turn splits (i.e. you cannot receive gifted units outside of your time slot).
Regarding great generals, there is this rule:
Quote:17. The Heroic Epic and West Point can only be built once you have a qualifying unit that has always been yours, and if joined to a GG, the GG was one you spawned yourself
So you can trade away a GG but the recipient cannot use him to enable the Heroic Epic or West Point. (Although technically, someone who wanted to abuse the rules could use the GG to boost unit A to 10XP while attaching him to unit B.)
So I guess the above rule should be reworded as follows:
Quote:17. The Heroic Epic and West Point can only be built once you have a qualifying unit that has always been yours, and that never received experience from a GG that you didn't spawn yourself.

Oh if that is the way the rule is written no worries then.

Yeah, a traded GG can be attached to a unit according to the rules, you just can't build HE/WP based upon that unit.

Yeah, we contemplated this when setting up the game. In fact, Luddite hit me on Gchat the other day and we went over what was legal and what wasn't.

Sounds like a hard sell to me.
I have to run.

Way overvalued. I wouldn't trade a GProphet, GEngineer, or GScientist straight up. Is a Medic chariot or free barracks worth that? Hell no. If you could get HEpic off of it, it would be different story. Even if you could get the +50% building, it would be a close call.
