Seeing as I've captured/razed your capital three times in the two games we've played together, I'd think you'd want to be on a team with me to avoid that trend continuing :neenernee

Also, I'm liking the fact I seem to have pissed off everyone on this forum at some point: no one seems to want to join me. I'm not that bad...

It has some downsides, but I actually prefer closed subforums over open subforums (with no restrictions on joining) to encourage more individuals to join teams and more lurkers to step out of the shadows and participate.

Effectively they're not really different - it'll feel the same to normal players. I'd just like to see fewer global lurkers and more people joining teams so that it's closer to being a true MTDG rather than just another Pitboss with more teammates than usual.

OK, just one more question, are our fora going to be open or closed (with any player able to join upon their request)? I'm happy with either, just want to gauge others opinions.

I'm happy either way too but I'd suggest closed so that we funnel lurkers into a) registering, b) dedlurking, c) participating. I think making everyone a dedlurker is a nice idea.

Oh and Rego will join team Darrell (right?) and provide the best reporting thread for information-craving lurkers.

Any thoughts on map? I may have something if it's 5 civs for a rather massive-scale game, but scripts can be fun and broken too.

Question: Are we going to have sub fora for this game? And if so, will they be open or closed? I ask this question simply because closed fora might entice more lurkers to join the game and contribute to the community. Obviously, every player that wants to join should be allowed to join a team no matter what...

Also...democracy game, not a generic PB, right?

Yeah, I believe this would technically be Intra-site Democracy Game 1 rather than Pitboss 8.

Yeah I'd actually suggest closed subforums; however, no denials of entry for any reason. I'd also be ok with players signing up for ALL the forums to global lurk so long as they only stayed as lurkers and didn't add spoilers.

Can someone explain what the difference even is between a "democracy" game and a "generic PB" game? What makes a democracy game any different than a regular game with teams of people?

And what are ya'll talking about with regards to open & closed subfora?
