Uhm...what speed are we playing on? I think I prefer Normal at this point.

I was assuming quick, since almost all PBEMs are played at that speed. I'm open to normal but I'll say why I prefer quick especially here. It's a test game, and chances are higher than normal that something will turn out to be dumb and we'll want to stop, or that the mod will be improved somehow and we'll have a greater-than-normal desire to start anew.

I'm indifferent regarding speed, but, since it can influence my picks, I'd rather have this decided before making them. But I'll go to sleep now, so the picks will have to wait.

I was assuming normal given PBEM.
Do we get to know what the map size is (as in small/standard/large, not the tile count)? Difficulty/Map Wrap is Prince/Toroidal right?

I agree with you Seven, in that we may want to stop this game early for a number of reasons and Quick makes sense for that. On the other hand, games are increasingly played on Normal, so it makes sense to test the mod on that speed as well. Speed definitely affects relative value of some of the traits.
In short, I don't feel too strongly about it either way, but I'm kind of taking this game not too seriously (as much as my personality allows for such a thing) so a more leisurely speed would be fine with me.

Just in case it's not clear, we vote for straight AI diplo (this is the third definitive vote for it), no text addon options. I don't really want any of the controversies from PB9, partially because the text transmission is so buggy.

And yeah, can you tell us the map size that you used to roll a 44x44 map? I'm all for everyone having accurate sandboxes.

So... game speed? We're all being too agreeable and flexible...
I guess what I'd prefer depends on how quick we expect the turn pace to go, whether we're going to be consistently beating 24 hours or lagging 24 hours. If the former normal, if the latter quick.

If we do end up on normal, maybe we could try to arrange a blitz session or two? Of course, I'd rather get the feedback for the mod sooner rather than later.

(Don't shoot the messenger but) has anyone thought about asking Caledorn if he could host this small game as a PB? That should help speed it up a little bit.
