I would definitely plant on the desert hill which grabs the flood plain, yes.

Turn 094
Had a little time after work, so I played the turn.
Retep had offered a peace deal when I opened the game, which I closed. After that I realized that it would have kicked us out of the bay and saved us 2 tiles of movement, but it may also trap our galley for 10 turns if this is a dead end. Still, probably should have taken it.
The workers are on task, and Calendar is due in 2 turns. I figured there was another way we could get some beakers and also maybe get us a Great Sci
If we go for 17 turns, then I think we build an academy in either the capital or at the gems city. That gems city is going to be a commerce monster: plantation the banana, and that + farmed flood plains is all the food you need. Cottage the rest of it up and watch the beakers come in. But this will also smother the Great Spy, at least delaying it. Do we want to go for a GSci or GSpy first?
Not much else with the turn. Scooter was talking about how the different people don't know each other, and to illustrate that take a peek at the full F4 relations graph:
Note that Commodore has met Black Sword.
We'll have 2 more settlers in 3 turns. Which will help: Commodore currently leads the pack with 9 cities. We're currently at 7, tied with Lewwyn. Mackoti & Azza have 8.

Looks great to me on all counts. And I think I prefer an Academy over a Spy anyway, especially with the recent nerfs to tech stealing.

FYI, I jumped in game and had a look around. I did make one change I hope you're okay with - I went ahead and loaded up one of the Trailblazers archers and started moving him towards Valiants. I think the original idea was he was going to escort the second city on that island, but since he's several turns ahead of the settler and we have 3 move galleys, I went ahead and moved him.
Since I did that, I started moving our one island archer towards the hut since we'll have an extra unit around in case of getting a couple barbs from the hut. I'd like to hurry up and pop that before Lewwyn or Commodore pop it with scouting units of their own.

Oh i forget about the nerf to stealing. Double cost and no more religion discount -- yeah, that's more equal with a GS bulb, but we'd need to tech Alphabet to take advantage of it.
If we were to bulb with a GS we would want to use it on Philosophy. But that would require teching Alphabet, Aesthetics, Meditation, and either Drama or (Currency and) Code of Laws. Probably not going to happen in 17 turns, and by 34 turns it likely will be gone.

Agree with this. Is the next settler going for the Moai spot on the coast?

Just build an academy if you get a GS. It's too early for bulbing.

Off to the coast but I noticed the turn had rolled, so I delayed my departure by a few minutes:
I whipped the library at Bulldogs for 2 pop and Lewwyn is our new points leader. Also, I took off Tigers from one of it's gems mines so it will grow in 2t. If you don't like this then move it back, but we still get Calendar next turn.

Thanks! It resulted in the silliest box score I've seen in awhile: http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=332920130

Request for you to rename bulldogs to pretenders until further notice. Vandy? GTFO.
