Luddite wanted the great artist for a golden age and switching civics. Repositioning his units after the Mackoti war seems natural; it doesn't mean he's going to invade Parkin.
If you know what I mean.

Missed the part about a GA with the GA. Makes more sense, then. At least two turns of anarchy from the double civic switch, so probably efficient use of research. The only practical reason he'd move the troops to the border in a stack like that (besides invading) is if he's trying to get Parkin to waste effort building more defenders. Could be a smart idea to slow down his strongest neighbor, could also backfire badly diplomatically or militarily.
Planting the city there is a definite mistake. The city is crap, so regardless of LP probably not deserving the land, it's still not a worthwhile move.
I think there are quite a few of us waiting for LP to get dogpiled and be punished for his diplomatic behavior.
Civilization IV: 21 (Bismarck of Mali), 29 (Mao Zedong of Babylon), 38 (Isabella of China), 45 (Victoria of Sumeria), PB12 (Darius of Sumeria), 56 (Hammurabi of Sumeria), PB16 (Bismarck of Mali), 78 (Augustus of Byzantium), PB56 (Willem of China)
Hearthstone: ArenaDrafts Profile No longer playing Hearthstone.
While I'd love to see someone call out LP, it's probably too late as LP does have a decent amount of production and a shitload more beakers than Luddite. I'd happily farmers gambit for 200 turns as well as you can always build dudes later.
I'm not quite sure I understand all the lurker hostility towards LP. Yeah, his diplo is a little too formal, arrogant etc. But he has shown himself so far to have the civ skills to back it up. Sometimes I think everyone around here just likes to hate on a newcomer. This is LP's first game at RB and I feel like people want him to fail for that reason.
I still propose a Krill v. LP duel. That is something I would learn from for sure.
Completed: SG2-Wonders or Else!; SG3-Monarch Can't Hold Me; WW3-Surviving Wolf; PBEM3-Replacement for Timmy of Khmer; PBEM11-Screwed Up Huayna Capac of Zulu; PBEM19-GES, Roland & Friends (Mansa of Egypt); SG4-Immortality Scares Me

He responds to lurker questions/requests for more info. His diplomacy is abrasive, but at least he's honest. The game would be far less interesting if he wasn't in it, that's for sure. IMO he's definitely the kind of player we want to see join new RB events. Darrell darrelljs Wrote:No one likes a bully . Now, that said I've enjoyed lurking his thread. Definitely agreed, I think he's a decent person, I just want someone to call him on his ginormous farmer's gambit because I'm an evil lurker and we freaking love conflict. I also know LP's also lost a compstomp/duel game against Irgy, but that's FFH and its weird and esoteric as hell.
Hi guys =) Making my first post for...not much to say, but oh well.
Lurked RB for a while, never signed up, started reading these Pitboss games and signed up to post some stuff. Just now got (somewhat) caught up to this, so far I've read LP + Locke's threads entirely + the first two pages of everyone else(Gonna get started on plako or Luddite's next). Right now, I don't think I can definitively put any civ first, but...I think I'm liking Locke's position the most so far. While I still need to read plako's thread, it seems like he has executed his game plan well so far and looks on the road to contending. I don't think anyone can threaten either of plako, LP or Locke right now...I think the smaller guys better start working together if they want a shot =) That's...all nothing new, as I gather, but I felt the need to post SOMETHING! Gotta watch carefully now.
Welcome, Kuro. The general consensus is that Locke, LP, plako, and Rego are all doing pretty well, each for different reasons. Luddite isn't doing badly but his long war set him back pretty far.
