OK, I've thought about it. I'd rather not if you think you can manage ok just working with Russia, BUT, if you'd rather just get out of it all together, I'm willing to step in for you provided that none of the players in the game object and I get at least a day to do diplomacy before issuing my first set of orders.

Bottom line is I don't want you to screw up important aspects of your life over a game. I've been there and done that, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone else.

Okay no sweat. I've calmed down a lot. Though I'd be lying if I said this game still wasn't completely on my mind every time I'm not preoccupied with something else. I've sort of been avoiding RB and gmail a bit too to get some space. I don't want to play, but I don't want to "give up".

What to do now. I don't trust Uberfish, I think he's working with Rowain now and they are both targeting me. Actually the only real way out is to flail at Russia while I get eaten in the back, or ally with Russia and turn to face them. I choose whichever gets me closer to killing off Rowain. Giving up War and Rum seems like the smart play at this point. Get small and grow an ally at my back. I'm going to leave all border countries with rego demilitarized too so that he can focus on building fleets and anytime he needs an SC he can take one of mine.

Trust me, it's way harder for us lurkers to keep everything straight. Well, at least for me. This has been one crazy game.

Well, good, I'm glad your coping better, because I've been in your situation, and it can be agonizing.

I completely understand a game taking over your life and making you obsess over it. I often dedicated every spare moment at home to PB3... up to 18+ hrs a day just on diplomacy... Not just PB3, either, but I used to play hourly ticker games... I used to not sleep more than 2 consecutive hours at night for... weeks at a time...

Sure, I had the team in PB3 in position to win in theory, and I won many times in hourly ticker games, and I loved playing them, and loved talking to some of the people I was playing with... but they weren't worth the price they took on the rest of my life. I mean, I was late to thanksgiving dinner once so I could make an attack before I left...

I also totally understand the not wanting to give up on a game. I couldn't give up on PB3 even when I found a replacement primary turn player... (this despite the fact I signed up to be a dedicated lurker and wound up running the team, sometimes alone for days at a time...) It's hard to just quit on something you've worked hard to build up.

Anyhow, as long as you can manage to play, I think you should, because you're liable to just agonize over how your replacement is doing with your empire anyway. Been down that road too, and that's why I'd prefer not to take over. However, I'm going to go dedicated lurker for you on this game, so if you need a couple of days off, or you need to give it up to preserve your sanity, let me know.

In worldly new I'm peeved that we didn't get a resolved turn. It's quite ridiculous, the pace we've had.
