10 is usually a good number, with the first couple turnsets being longer. But maybe you should have each play a random number between 5 and 15?

Not a signup, but this looks like major fun to lurk.

The thing that makes the most sense is playing until the traits change, but that might be half the game so that isn't really all that feasible.

Bobchillingworth Wrote:So, settings- I'm up for whatever, with a slight preference for doing an Erebus Continent map with everything set to "random" smile Really any map which offers a lot of options with a random choice is great.

Not sure if this applies to what you meant, but keep in mind Erebus Continent isn't actually all that random, as all civs spawn in their lore-appropriate spots. Personally, although obviously I have no bearing on this whatsoever, I would recommend Fractal. smile

And I believe 10 turns is the norm for turnsets, with the first couple being around 20 turns to get through the early game (especially true for FFH, I imagine).

Looking forward to lurking this if I have the time!

Looks like fun!

By the way, our SG thread is up at CFC, you can find it here.

On map settings: in the spirit of embracing the random, how about Shuffle, which selects randomly from among several map types?

Could just random settings in a different way. Use a dice (online or real) to decide settings.

I've never been a great Civ or FFH player so Immortal would be a little too high for me in a game where the 'team' isn't working together at all.

Also haven't tried EitB at all so I'm ok with lurking if experience is desired.

No no, lack of experience is great- it'll make for a much more fun game! I don't care at all if we win or lose as long as we have fun. I've already beat the dumb FFH AI (and it's still far from a braintrust in EitB) twelve ways to Sunday in SP, and so have a lot of other people, so there really isn't any "Can this be done?!" point to prove.

Does Emperor difficulty sound okay?

Shuffle is a great idea, I'll go with that unless someone suggests something else.

I can generate the save later today after waiting for more input. The play rotation will just follow the sign-ups order, so I'll take the first round tongue , with skips & such added in as appropriate. So Dave will be up after me. If there are no objections, I'd like to do 15 turns for the first three sets and then 10 for every set afterwards; the first few players (me, dave & selrahc) get to play a few more, but we also have the most boring rounds initially.

lol thanks.

The way things are going atm I'm more likely to get my ass banned from RB than acutally finishing the game. :hat:

Of course I went with the first start I rolled. Nice land, too.
