By the standards of this forum I am a modest player, I have never played a 100 unit + battle nor one when losing on the third turn is a victory, but a question about collateral.
Would it not be best to have N+1 units in the city on turn 1 of the attack? Team 3 now has 41 cannons , 5 cats and 103 hitters ( 1 knight lost, 1 explorer miscounted by Dave I think). If I filled the city with all of my cats and then got my N+1 by filling it with ancient era junk the won't the rifles and muskets be hitting full strength cats and therefore taking some damage? (Is Beijing on a hill? Do cats get the 25% added?)
On turn 2 I then put my 'elite' muskets and jans in. Sure ,there is a second round of collateral but then they are up against weakened hitters. The odd rifleman may lose plus increasing numbers as we go down the list. I would still have some units to put in for turn 3.
This may all be moot and I have absoluitely no empirical evidence to back it up- just a thought. Happy top be shot down in flames.

For one thing the cats and other junk are so weak at defending that they might not even be able to scratch Team3's units (Beijing is on a hill, but cat's don't get any kind of defensive bonus). Then on the second turn, all the muskets would get hit by twice the usual amount of collateral damage, and would also be giving up their fortification bonus.

No defense bonus units don't get the hill bonus.

Oh, I need to put in my prop bet:
217 dead men.
I assume that all bets will close when T1 gets T190? That seems like the latest possible moment to allow a change if we're having a formal pool.

Hmm, I think my wager will be on the low end. Let's say, 185. My feeling is that T3 will attack with everything in the first round, but then seeing that they can't raze the city on round two they'll withhold from some of the most wounded units and pray that T2 doesn't win ibt.

If memory serves, the message log will let everyone know when cities become legendary, so if T3 can't stop the cultural victory they'll know about it before their last attack.

I love your logic but don't like your number...I'll go with 144.

I thought about that, but will they get the message for the cities they haven't scouted yet? If they get it just for Beijing they might think it's a trick.
In any case, even if it appears inevitable, if stopping them on 191 eot is impossible I'd imagine they'd just play it out for a turn 192 stop and hope against hope T4 somehow intervenes. There's nothing else they really can do...
