[SPOILERS] Scooticator and Pindooter give a sporting try

So I'm playing around with pindicator's SIP WB first plan which I think is pretty much what we're going with. I wanted to see the effects of going for a settler before our second worker. Here's a breakdown of the standard plan:

0: wb, agri first
8: start worker
9: net fish
18: warrior on max food
23: grass wheat farmed
eo25: hit size 3, still warrior, pick up spice
eo27: bronze working in
28: cow pasture finished (first chops next)
eo28: hit size 4 while finishing warrior
29: start worker at size 4 (fish/wheat/spice/cow)
32: chop into worker finishes 2nd worker eot
33: start settler. 1 worker mines ph, other chops
36: chop completes settler EoT

Now, on T29 I kind of like the idea of going with a settler there instead of a worker. The first 28 turns are all the same, so I'll omit those and pick up at T29:

29: start settler at size 4 (fish/wheat/spice/cow)
32: chop finishes into settler
34: settler finishes EoT, overflows 11h
35: start worker
36: chop finishes worker EoT

So settler-worker sacrifices a plains hill mine for getting our second city 2 turns faster. Depending on our surroundings, I think that's pretty likely to be a worthwhile trade off. Any thoughts on that?

The settler plan looks better. Generally non-resource improvements are not critical early game.

Okay, well I think we start building a WB and DO NOT SELECT A TECH for the first five turns and then go from there. It should be Agriculture -> Bronze Working through t27 and then we can decide between Wheel vs Mysticism or whatever.

I know something we have to discuss.

Opening scout move. For some reason I assumed the scout could pop the hut on t0 but that isn't true. So do we let the borders pop open the hut and move the scout NW->?? Do we settle first and then move scout based on what we see?

Well, if we move the scout first, we move it 2SE because that might possibly change our settling location. If we're moving the scout differently then we should settle first I think.

The reason why I emphasized not selecting a tech is that borders will pop eot4 and pop the hut before we have to decide on a tech on t5. Oh and I just tested - if we don't select a tech at all the beakers should go into Agriculture (but we should select on t5 of course to avoid possible idiosyncrasies between the game and the sandbox).

Password set as zerkersports, to fit with the formula we set last game.
I've also put it in the first post

I think I killed it...
I asked Comm to try and log in, but it froze up at the very end of loading the map and now it times out when I try to connect.

We're off!

Settled in place like we discussed. Workboat first and working the forested plains hill.
Have not moved scout, and I can see moving it NW or SW as both being good. NW probably better?

And remember to not select a technology until turn 5.

P.S. This is gonna be an awesome bureaucracy capital!

Yeah northwest is further away so we should go that way. We can explore the nearer lands with the first warrior.

Alright, I went ahead and moved the scout NW:

So, if my tree graphics memory is accurate, I believe this means we are in the northern hemisphere. That pretty much lines up with my initial guess that we are in the north due to the floodplains we're seeing through fog-gazing. If this was vanilla civ I'd say the resource indicators are giving it away, but I'm pretty sure that's been fixed. With that in mind, I think we should go SW next?
