Well, what are our scouting goals?
1) find neighbors
2) pop huts
3) locate best spot for our first settler
How would you rank these? I think I would go 2-1-3, so scout should reveal the most tiles possible.

You know, I don't like SE that much because it looks like we'll get stuck in the jungle. We're a lot closer to the equator than I originally figured, so I think NW-NW is actually a solid choice too.
I like NW-NW - it gives us some clear direction on where we want a city (right now, on the current hill or 1W of the hill both look pretty solid). And it reveals a ton of tiles.

Rolled while I was sitting around. I liked Cyneheard's idea of NW-NW and now we start to get a better idea of the shape of the land
A hut! Be sure to move the scout W-S next turn, to get the little extra sight over water.

Looks good. Yeah I agree NW-NW was the right call. Two huts in the next 3 turns, let's cross our fingers for at least one tech.

Well, at least we didn't get a map:
Basically received the minimum on gold, so overall a pretty meh result. I do like that gold resource, though. We should be able to claim that. Back home, we will hopefully get a better hut result end of turn:
Noble and/or various gurus - we can confirm that we can safely wait until next turn to select a tech, right?

Yuck on the hut result but that land still looks great! Let's continue SW and scout around that gold next.
I am pretty sure Noble said we need to select on t5, but i can wb test tonight.

33 gold and another hut to pop. We will have to build a warrior or an archer to pop it, our scout is too far away.
I know, right now you're thinking, "Wait, did he just say archer?"
He did.
Obviously turn 5 was too late.

In other news, Suttree popped a tech from a hut. Next game I play with huts on I am wandering my settler 2 turns before popping any. Because obviously that is how you get a tech in this game.
We also need a new micro plan. I don't think we're getting a turn 35 settler now
