Sounds like that guy should bake fix graphics cards for a living.

Graphics card companies have machines like pizza hut conveyer belt ovens for fixing defective returns.

It's not actually the graphics card, it's one of the DVI ports that is knackered.
However, after looking through the bios...turns out there is a setting that allows you to use the internal graphics and a discrete graphics card at the same time specifically for dual monitors. And that actually works fine, good enough FPS for LoL and civ and video playback at the same time, and that's all I really want. If the graphics card does break again in the next few, so be it.
Gotta say I'm fairly pleased with how this PC is holding itself together with parts that are up to 6 years old.

That's pretty good. I have the same setup. Apparently some manufacturers cheaped out and never bothered to show that option in bios.

Yeah, it's a pretty good option, for those of use that don't run graphically demanding games but want dual or triple monitors.

Hi! I'm planning to get myself a new gaming pc in the 600$ area in a week or so but my experience in the subject is nearly void! :D
As i understand the matter, buying the parts separately gets a better result than a default one! Can anyone here help please? Any opinions for a recipee within the given price range is greately appreciated! Thanks!
Edit: Keep in mind that i may wish to upgrade it in the future so the sound and graphics cards dont need to be top notch for the moment. If lol works full fps with all settings at max while skype, internet and fraps run in background it's fine. Best case scenario is d3 with all settings at max.

What PC equipment do you have now? Monitor, keyboard, mice...what sort of case do you have? Do you have a power supply? Will you add anything to it over the coming years? What sort of games do you want to play? Do you live in a small room and need a small PC?

Also this is a good place to read up one other peoples PC builds. $600 is a relatively common price point.
Though be warned...
