More good stuff:
Since you're back tonight, I think this'll be the last turn I play for you. Unless the turn rolls *really* quickly.

The next time a map maker asks about civ colour preferences the answer is "not zulu yellow".
Foreign news:
Pindicator (Fishing, Mining, Expansive) and Gaspar (Ag/Wheel) went Hunting first, everyone else went Ag first.
Pindicator's choice seems iffy to me. The deer is the best unimproved tile in the BFC (Demos indicate mirrored starts) and the Wheat is the best improved tile in the BFC. He's already handicapped by starting with Fishing, opening Hunting first just puts him further behind. He can go BW next and he gets there a turn or two faster with Hunting but the extra yields from the farmed river Wheat + 3f 1h Deer at size 2 quickly outpace 5f/1h Deer + 3 yield second tile. I'm sure he's got some kind of cunning plan but I've no idea what it might be. (I suppose there is an outside possibility that he's been spending too much time in the solvent locker and went Myst-->Meditation to try and bag the religion.)
Someone was working their Cows and accepting a 1t or 2t delay on their worker in exchange for +12 commerce. That would make a sort of twisted kind of sense if running for a religion. The extra commerce per turn takes produced commerce up from 9 to 10 so the +1 commerce is worth +2 beakers when researching a tech with a 20% pre-req bonus.
I'm waiting for the turn to roll so I can reassess plans based on Horses.

No problem. They're a bit chilly, but they're there.
I'm glad you got back when you did, you get to choose if you're spending two turns to scout for food near the furs or not.

It's a very pleasant color as long as you're not trying to read white text on top of it

Yeah, neither is a very sexy tile to actually *work* but the extra worked tiles in all my other cities is huge.

I am in fact going to move onto the Furs next turn. I can afford the delay in scouting the east and seafood might change my settling priorities a bit.

Yeah, but you know how I am with signs.

Turn rolled and I've got horses nearby:
In the south I've got seafood galore:
I can settle horses as my second city rather than on the ivory or ph to the southeast. But it settles a turn later and costs me an extra gpt in city maint once I have 4 pop on the board. Settling horses as 3rd city is a bit risky but I'm inclined to swing for the fence here and settle the ivory. Given current map knowledge I'm favouring settling on the Ivory over the PH as it picks up fish (temporarily) and doesn't require a road connection for the trade hook up which lets me delay those 4 worker turns for awhile in favour of improving tile yields.
In the south I'm strongly considering settling on the furs as my 4th city. With Crabs, Pigs and shared fish this city will be a powerhouse with Moai.
Scouting to the east over the next few turns will likely change some of that OFC.

Hah. I could settle 2 south of the sheep as my second city: shared wheat, horses outer ring, sheep, inner sea port.
Hmmm. Back to the sandbox.

and it looks like Joao is an awesome leader for this map. Glad he didn't get paired with Ag/Wheel.

Indeed I did.
Quick run through says 2 south of the sheep works very well. Slightly weaker in commerce but stronger in hammers and security. I'll be able to put off fishing until after bronze plus I'll have my first chariot on the board circa t40 with another pair by t42. :D
