Yeah, I get it. I really was thinking from the 'hazer' perspective, rather than from a more humane perspective. Rationally there's no reason why my situation and Whosit's should be linked, and considered in isolation, the reload is right for this case. For that matter, I did know that reject/reoffer would work mechanically the way it did, even if I come out of it thinking Jowy's a jerk.
A lot of that is because I'm sick and tired of this game. Seriously thinking I should restrain myself to only adventures/SG's in the future. Losing really hurts a lot more when it takes months from 'oh, I shouldn't have done that' to the actual end of play.

Jowy offered us straight peace again. Still rejected it. But this turn we did something to improve our negotiating position a bit:
Finally, a straight-up victory. He could afford it if Fenn weren't distracting him, but 2v1 he needs a better exchange rate than that.
Then I offered him peace for Velociraptor.
Here's the situation:
If he recaptures Triceratops, I think he has to use his eastern Vultures. Which would give us another good exchange - this time with our chariots.
If he instead charges for the capital, things might get a smidge dicey. We can retreat fast with the road, but we also need a couple turns of healing yet. But I think he doesn't have the ability to know that - and of course we can rush out a fresh axe, plus reinforcements from the north, and defense bonus: I think it's a fair risk.
Plus, well. Worst case, if he does charge for us, his army gets greatly damaged and distracted in the process. Still ought to leave Jowy open for Fenn to hit, while we don't have to play anymore. That's not exactly a loss from this perspective either .

Hope you guys can keep enjoying the game despite the position.
For PB17 I spent some time coming up with a macro plan and then played each turn pretty quickly. The macro plan involved elements I thought would be fun; build up a big science capital, get as many double promo units from the other cities. I still enjoyed that game.

Seems like we're going at this from the complete opposite angle: each turn we're looking for maximum damage to Sumeria, but no long term plans at all
Jowy...confuses me. He retook Triceratops, with a single wounded vulture to hold it. Then he offered us peace for the city. Why we should want that peace is beyond me. Especially when he can't hold the city in any event. Perhaps if he'd left us hope, we'd want peace, but not at this stage, not for just one city.
Meanwhile, his main stack disappeared. Presumably into Velociraptor, toward Fenn. Something good must have happened to Jowy on that front, because he got a GG last turn, and we certainly didn't give him the victories for one. It implies the end is near - but at least we can be confident we've done our part for Fenn.
So I just grabbed the 2XP on another chariot, and didn't bother to send Jowy any offers at all this turn. Unfortunately, we can't press the attack, we need our axes to heal first. But if he wants to reoccupy Triceratops, he'll have to bring a stack that can stand up to ours.
I am, however, starting to think about settlers again. In particular, a copper city placed with copper first ring We don't want to be forever dependent on Fenn. Especially when Jowy seems to be having a good time against him.
I'm also debating next moves. Do we want to try for another of our ex-cities? Diplodocus and Velociraptor are both tempting - but of course they'll be much harder to crack, being hill cities. Maybe we just settle our backlines, play defense, and try to make it to Construction with enough production to make a good cat-stack.

Seriously, Jowy - you've given us three alternatives:
Keep Triceratops by the threat to kill anything that occupies it. Meanwhile have our hands free to do whatever.
Lose Triceratops, making Jowy park units on flatland next to our highly promoted army.
or.....
Keep Triceratops, a tiny city, and let you recapture it in ten turns with your whole stack, denying us the chance to damage you meanwhile.
Maybe an AI would accept that peace. Or someone whose main goal was surviving long enough to get eighth place instead of ninth. But now that our goal is 'hurt Jowy' - he's got to give up something that hurts if he seriously expects peace.

Could have been a mixted result with wins on both sides. Actually, in PB23 I got a major victory against Agent and after beating his stack I decided to snipe a chariot GG he had : the RNG was against me and that's when he spawned a GG. So considering all the victories he had against us since his last GG it wasn't necessarily a Jowy victory. We'll see how the graph looks like in 2t.
About cities, I'd like to get raptor back on top of Tri, but it will depend on how his stack does against Fenn. Recapturing raptor would give us the possibility of resettling the west (with copper) and the NW, which would make our empire not-too-pathetic in term of size.

Yeah, Velociraptor is definitely the highest priority. I'm just trying to judge the right amount of risk; I want the city, but I also want to keep our stack. Might have to wait for Construction to manage it cost-effectively.
