Just wondering how you and Maya were playing the war: friendly, keeping the game moving along and a bit of give and take on when you could play your turn in relation to the turn timer, or holding it until it turned at a time to your advantage. Ditto to Maya, really.

I'm okay with give and take, we don't want to slow the game down just for us. The only problem, as has been observed before, is that we are essentially on a 12HR turn timer and sunrise has to make sure our 12HRs lands in a window he can play.
In other words, I'd love to end our turn as soon as I get home (in about an hour) but the last time I did that we almost missed our window. If we are allowed to bleed into Mayan's time, and the Mayans are allowed a free pause if they don't have time to play as a result, the game will surely move faster.

Well, I'm up for anything that keeps the game moving along...Maya, what do you think about this?

Sure - we're okay with the DJs bleeding into our window, so long as we know when they're done so that we can play, and it leaves us enough time to look at the situation, come to a decision as a team, and make our moves. I'll try to get an e-mail thread going with them so we can coordinate that stuff.
We've been trying to keep the game moving as well as we can - Maniac and I signed on as dedicated lurker/advisors and occasional subs, but we've been handling most of the turnplaying because Cull can only log on about once a day most of the time and we don't want to delay everybody - but we can't keep it up forever, especially with just a 12-hour window - or less! - in which to play.
So, yeah, I'm fully on board with Darrell's suggestion - and as long as it's there just in case, we'll try not to use the "free pause" he suggests if we can help it.

First, I'd like to thank Maya for being so cooperative (other than warring with us in the first place! ).
@Krill - It's a tough balanced. It's part trying to keep the timer at a predictable point in the game (we'd never pause to make this happen though, but we like it if it happens naturally) and partly to minimize the impact of going first in the turn. Obviously we'd love to always get a chance to view the Mayan moves before the turn rolls, but we know that isn't always possible. If we end turn though and the Mayans wait until they are the last civ to end, or they play whenever and then the remaining civs play very quickly we loose out on this opportunity. I'm not sure of a solution, but as long as one of the DJCiv players has the ability to log in we should be able to end turn 5 minutes after the Mayans do so.

My apologies to Dantski, but RBP2 suggests this thread is the right place for "we've played" posts. Email isn't a perfect substitute because not everyone on each team checks the email account daily.
Anyways, DJCiv has played. Mayans - thank you for letting us bleed over into your 12 hours. I slept in a bit more than I expected today

Just so everyone knows, it's likely going to be several hours before we play our turn this time, because we've some major decisions to make this turn, and the people who need to discuss them won't all be around till later. I know the delay will displease some of you, but, we'll play the turn as soon as we're sure we're ready to.
Edit: I couldn't play it right now if I wanted to, because I'm at work doing paperwork on my day off anyhow. (The pay is good, so I won't complain... much)
