He went 4-1 vs the spears at 35% odds or so. Those were the lucky rolls. But the Americans had enough horse archers to clean up Arabia's stack either way.

Of course they can't be, because that post is from 2006 Donovan is a player who puts a lot of value in soft factors such as seeing tech, rather dubiously IMO. This was clearly shown when he took over Serdoa's civ in PB27 which I was dedlurking.

We didn't get a picture of the day yesterday! Seriously I appreciate it, this game is cool from a lurker standpoint just for the scale.
This one is from yesterday, showing Plemo's advance in Siberia.
He plays the German version of the game, but I guess you should be able to see what's going on. Great to see you guys enjoying the game! I've been following it closely over at the German forum. Needed a couple of weeks to get who does what and started where, but since I started reading around turn 30, it was still managable. My money btw is on Jesper Portus. Plemo is a close second, but his economy is rather weak at the moment due to his war against the Khmer. I'm not sure how fast he will recover after his conquest, given that the land he is conquering is average at best. Jesper Portus (normally abbreviated "JP") on the other hand is financial Rangar whose economy is already back on track after his easy conquests of his two southern neighbours.
By the way, if you want to follow the game on the German forum, I'd suggest you read/translate only a few selected threads. Jesper Portus, Plemo, wahl-profi, Dulland, Ziankali, Sauron44, Coco and shade all play above average and write clear game descriptions that are easy to follow, I think, and overall strike a good balance between details and the big picture in their stories (wahl-profi being by far the most detailed of the eight). Here are the links:
Dulland (Africa): https://www.civforum.de/showthread.php?1...df%FCnfzig Ziankali (Central Europe): https://www.civforum.de/showthread.php?1...er-Algarve wahl-profi (USA): https://www.civforum.de/showthread.php?1...stenspiele Coco (South Amercia): https://www.civforum.de/showthread.php?1...in-Babylon Jesper Portus (China): https://www.civforum.de/showthread.php?1...agnaaaaaar! Plemo (Siberia) : https://www.civforum.de/showthread.php?1...lus-Magnus Sauron44 (Egypt): https://www.civforum.de/showthread.php?1...erungstour shade (Australia): https://www.civforum.de/showthread.php?1...die-Jurten There are more stories, of course. But I enjoy them far less and they are harder to follow, as some of the less experienced players debate every move they make or write really long posts about their thoughts. Unfortunately, a few months ago 1-2 new readers turned up who seem to have a great urge to write really long, sometimes confusing posts themselves. So overall it has gotten a bit more challenging to find the relevant information about the game on the German forum. I hope my post helps some of you to enjoy it nevertheless. Yeah, I read reports from JP this game and catherine game and he is very solid. On this PB was serious helped by his leader(the best on this format were AGG shine for at least 110 turns) and fin is fin and his neighbours which played rather poor compared to JP . I inserted it yesterday and according to the edit-function its still there, yet somehow I can no longer see it in my web browser...
I can see it. Sulla also mentioned in another thread that pictures he uploaded kept disappearing and reappearing randomly.
I cannot see it, no.
