[69] Ginger and Miguelito do as fortune commands

I think exp has seen an increase recently and imp a marked decrease. That being said I like Imp. Specifically I like it in situations where I don't think I'll be getting granaries early or in situations where I want to normal build settlers. PB66 is far enough along I think I can reveal a little, because shockingly I didn't choose Imp for T100 on. I choose it because I needed AH fast, had few forests, and had low overall food. But with Imp it could 5 turn settlers for a while (with a little bit of overflow going in). Imp also frees crucial early worker turns up that would be spent chopping forest into at least 2nd settler - 5th ish (IE transition to granaries and you don't care about saving growth turns as much with forest chops). Also, you can get real lazy with micro with Imp. I think I stopped early 30s in PB66, which normally I try to keep it going into early 60s. While exp can easily catch up in growth and surpass imp, it does give imp the fastest out of the gate to hammer

I'd say that the main benefit of IMP is that you don't have to plan out your settlers; any freshly built city that manages to grow to size 4 can whip one out on demand. That said, how valuable the trait is varies a lot on the map, both tightness and lushness. That said, I'd only consider pairing it with a trait that offsets the costs of those cities.

Fun fact; one of my earliest civ4 games was a lower difficulty loss with Cathy (IMP/CRE) in which I simply overexpanded into financial ruin.

Ouch, that hurts... I lost a city in 59 to something similar; only saw one of the two spears advancing.

Nauf refuses Open Borders :/
Really my dude, you pink dot then deny me OB? For a net loss of gpt?  crazyeye

I'm praying that Magic Science settles in place and doesn't take the sheep, Mack can whip out a chariot to deal with it though, but I'd rather not nuke my trade routes. MS is PRO but he wants to explore my territory so I've offered OB now that we have a trade connection.

Magic Science whacks my Chariot which I understand bc it was threatening his settler, does not follow up with a peace offer (???)
Well my conscience is clean at least for attacking him if he invalidates my Sheep plant

Plz dont pinkdot me when I play an early leader, thx and have a nice day nod

Edit: I logged back in and offered Magic Science a peace treaty, focus on Naufragar and securing the elephant to the Northeast, no use getting cocky, I'm disappointed about losing the city site, but its not super important. It could've supported like 4 cottages max off of one sheep.
Of course if I hadn't lost shit to barbs... snowball snowball snowball

Wish I had done that before I one pop whipped a chariot in the capital.. but okay.

You guys get a report because my attention has been diverted from the Old World PBEM because of turn delays shakehead
I've been playing a lot of Old World singleplayer and on their discord too and it is really growing on me.

Today in this episode of "how in the world did this idea hatch fully formed?" we take a look at our neighbors.

Serious question for Nauf after the game how am I supposed to live with a border like this? turns me into a C shape
I suppose the answer is "you weren't supposed to live" and I can appreciate that, but well, good luck in your senior year wink

this is more puzzling, what a shitball city to provoke a fight over duh
Magic Science lucked out that "We have enough on our hands right now"

Anyhow, we are un-breaking our economy slowly with some cottaging, heavily hoping on landing mids. Chopping as much as we can into it for boosted failgold if we miss on mids. Plan for missing mids is probably to turn failgold into horse archers and  hammer
Kind of dumb game that I detest to play (because it always loses to the dude that did some teching), but I'm sure the lurkers would love to see it.
