I feel bad for the two of them, really. But this game is turning out to be ridiculously awesome for lurkers so far, and might even be the best preT10 (too many games here to be sure). Commodore pops a map revealing the location of his nemesis before T5, and therefore is planning a rush believing the element of surprise to be on his side. pindicooter meanwhile, messed up game mechanics and mistakenly researched the majority of archery, of all things, which will almost certainly ensure that Commodore's rush will fail, and the two of them will be at it again for eons probably.

Notice though, that both the hut pop and the archery tech was either dumb luck or just plain dumb. :P

I mean seriously, could there be a better setup for the lurkers this early? Perhaps if Lewger and/or Nakorfool were somewhere nearby as well to dampen pindicooter's mood more, but even if that dream isn't true we even have plako and Serdoa as neighbors somewhere else in the world for more PB8 grudge warfare later on.

So far the known neighbors are Commodore and Pindicator/Scooter, Serdoa and Plako, Bacchus and retep.

Interesting question: Does anyone know if AI choose techs on T0, or they are automatically chosen by this mechanic?

I haven't checked this in Pitboss but in a single player (or multiplayer hotseat) game, AIs do choose techs on T0. I believe they also will sometimes change techs partway through - e.g. if facing a military threat, they may switch from a "builder" tech to a "military" one - but they don't appear to do so consistently.

Yeah, I think in general RB is a good place to improve MP skills and CFC is a good place to improve SP skills. Some of the lurker threads are extremely impressive. Stick around, this game is going to be a really good one to watch.

Which way do we want to scout in general next?

South down the coast?
Southeast, cutting into the heart of the continent?
Or south and then bend back east to uncover the land south of our capital?
