Kathlete was never fully dedicated to the attack, they just wanted to wound Spullla at worse and take them out of hte game at best. They are building like crazy right now.

Speaker Wrote:Yes, I believe that Whosit is sending Praetorians over by galley. We've explored a good chunk of his land and seen only 1 Praetorian total, and both of his fronts are secure. The only place they could be are en route to us, and this will be his best shot to hurt us, so it makes too much sense for him to not do it. I expect 3-4 galleys full of Praetorians will land next to Fredericksburg in the next 5 or so turns, maybe sooner, and I have no idea if we'll be able to stop them. I must say, Speaker's been pretty spot on in sensing the impending war declarations. I'm rather looking forward to Sulla's response to that post
It will be interesting to see if/when some of the 5-person CoW start thinking a bit ahead to what happens after this Sullla war.
Who are the odd folks out? Now we as lurkers "know" (in quotes because who knows how it will REALLY end up) that Jowy, Kathlete and Whosit have kind of a "pact within a pact" to go to the next phase. So do Dantski and Nakor know that, and/or will they ever find out, and when? If they did, I'm sure it would certainly change what they would do here and now. It's unfortunate that for both of them, the "right" answer (from the dropping out of CoW perspective) is attacking each other. And I don't think that the Praets will do that much, but I could be wrong. Obviously 1-2 more of those shock HAs would have been nice, but with the coastal city of Shiloh gone it's less of a risk I think. Fredericksburg is still in danger, but if Spullla can clear out some more of the enemy units before they get there, I think they'll be okay
Whosit mentioned a sub-alliance to Nakor, which was a mistake on his part. Nakor doesn't know who's in the sub-alliance, except that it's not his team. I think the HRE hasn't used that information very effectively, being content to keep helping teams that they should know will turn on them after the war.
When's Construction due for India? A few Cats would help against the Praet stack. And has Kathlete mentioned a second wave of troops? It seems like they've been building up their economy and expanding instead of making more troops. Sir Bruce Wrote:When's Construction due for India? A few Cats would help against the Praet stack. 5 turns. It will be quite close as to whether India can whip out a couple catapults in time to stop the praetorians doing major damage. T-hawk Wrote:5 turns. It will be quite close as to whether India can whip out a couple catapults in time to stop the praetorians doing major damage. Yeah, but they don't necessarily have to, do they? If the Praets land but India has 10 mixed units in a city with some cultural defense India may not be able to attack out for a few turns, but the Praets might as well get back on their ships and head home.
And Whosit has his doubts now. If Construction comes in T108, then Sullla will have cats on T110 at the latest. When would a Whosit force be in range of F-burg?
Whosit was talking about a turn 112 attack for a while and I think that remains the plan. With Shiloh destroyed it might even be turn 115 before he gets to the front line. Catapults are almost definitely going to be in play by then.

Looks like he could land outside the city on T109, judging by the signs. |
