However, by not bringing enough cataphracts to the fight and frittering away the ones he does have, the war has deteriorated into a stalemate. With Sian's growing horde of pikes, I don't expect to see the Byzantines claim any more land. Imho, they would be wise to seek a favorable peace with YNL and turn their cavalry around.

I believe the technical term for this is "Sianing".

Ah, nooo. Much as I am fairly sure Mackoti and Luddite are willing to work together, I think Yuri has been violently conditioned to not attack the Sevenanaut. The tech edge is much too crushing for them to enjoy success without coordination, or really probably even with coordination. Although it should definitely make for a more interesting endgame than the roflstomp that was shaping up.

But I don't think we should disregard Mackoti either. I'm very impressed with how he manages to match N7 in military techs, only getting Chemistry two turns after N7. But with N7's production edge, I think he can only match them on sea OR on land, and I doubt Luddicator can make up the difference.

Sian manages to get himself attacked in every game, but he's got some defensive grit. Not long ago he looked like a consistent easy mark, but he's shown he can make agressors pay. yikes

It's actually some 39 knights, 10 HA, and assorted trash looks like. Pity is, that BLOOD is going to be 95% Greco-Zulu, I think. Probably. Although it looks like Mack was clever, getting that land/sea divide fixed by helping Luddite hit N7 overland while he throws everything into galeons and frigates. This really is their moment, as Machine Guns will shut just about everything down in less than a dozen turns.

Also, has Luddicator shown any realization that NS7 keep getting more cities, and therefore there must be islands?

If they follow Pin's plan to go out into the ocean for a surprise attack, I think the surprise will be on them!

I hope my questions in Luddites thread are not over the line but I really would like to know how they managed this. Especially with mackoti who never showed any interest in simply trusting people. And now he let 80 units simply move through his lands?

I think your questions were good. I definitely suspected something going on due to Pindicator's very unusual silence. The metagame here is totally clear for both Mack and LudPin, the units on the board are all the communication necessary.

I think Luddite is spot on about not trusting Mack. What we know about Mackoti, I'm sure he's feeling similar things. This is a move borne of desperation, not trust.

Also, it's a good day to be Byzantine!

luddicator can't attack mackoti when their knights are moving through his land. There's not much risk in it besides allowing scouting. There's no Council of Esus in this game.
