[NO PLAYERS] The Kibitzer Klub: PB13 Map & Lurkers

Pind says he wants SE.

Commodore scout:

Map knowledge is best to the SE, so he's more likely to go straight south. My count puts Com 7N, 5E of the Viking scout, so it appears they won't be crossing paths just now. This sets up very poorly for Scooticator getting any kind of early warning.

preview: Yeah, Bowsling, they pretty much have ruled out the likelihood of a team being to their north earlier in the thread. They're...not going to like how this goes.

Edit: One thing I think we should all be aware of is that Scooter is a very people-savvy person. He is very likely to notice the lurker thread buzzing every time he posts about his scouting movement decisions, a topic that is usually not that interesting unless something is happening. I'm not proposing any specific posting rules for us, but it is something to be aware of. I'd hate to influence the game right now in any way, even if it's an unsaid meta-tip that Scooter somehow scried from the tea leaves. I guess I'm guilty of this right now.

There's 18 teams in this game, a post in the lurker thread could be about absolutely anything. I say spam away.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

Looks like retep moved his settler far off the coast and is very close neighbors with Bacchus and WilliamLP now.

DON'T EVEN JOKE.

rolf rolf rolf

So sad it is for those involved but for us lurkers the random start rolls make a hilarious game

It may be hilarious for the lurker thread but I don't envy Scoopin at all when they find out. I really hope Commodore can surprise and kill them quickly for the sanity of everyone involved. I don't think any of these guys would have the motivation to go through another war like the one they just fought against each other in PB8, it's just going to make the game a chore and a grind. I hope one side or the other prevails quickly and that the losing/eliminated side can jump back into the game onto another team if they want to. But I'd wish them all anything other than fighting the same war all over again and I'm sure Scoopin will agree once they find out (we already know Commodore doesn't want any part of this but feels it is a necessity).

Well for a complete replay of PB8 Scoopin can always give up their starting area to Commodore and settle in with Jester and Nakor. Only this time there's no ocean involved.

If I had that, I'd take it. Floodplain and a couple riverside grass for farms, dry grass for cottages all over, Finlake. In a situation where I can reasonably settle on the copper I'll whip a quick Imp settler and move a warrior with it, upgrading the turn I settle on the metal.

This seems far inferior to worker > chop settler > chop many axes... If an upgraded warrior is his attack force I think it maybe Scoopin will be doing the beating this time?

And now a Lewwger/Azza replay? This should really be titled Pitboss 13: The Grudginating.

Most entertaining newby thread for me is WilliamLP and Mindy. My early game prediction is that they will successfully block out or destroy Retep, and be well positioned to become a force later on.

I am not a nice person.

I know Stick has used this as his sig, but as an addendum, not a single person in this game has any right to complain about the proximity of their neighbours: they knew what they were getting into when they chose this map size.
