I didn't think I'd ever say this but I think the game should just be called now. The city gifts are just plain bad and I don't think I'd want to play another game with scooter after how he has handled this game.

I don't get why you're pointing a finger at Scooter. I can't remember who it was that opened Pandora's box but I don't think it was him? In any case, I wouldn't hesitate to play with him in the future. I would agree with a ban on city transfers, though.
If you know what I mean.

Yeah, we fought against city gifting or selling when we first discovered it happening in game. When the players voted against us and for city gifting scooter and I discussed what we would do going forward and decided that it would be best to abuse the hell out of that mechanic if it was to be allowed. I was advocating gifting or Empire away to Commodore, though I was too invested to actually go through with it.
So I'd hold off on blaming scooter. He likely is just continuing to take advantage of that ruling to show how dumb city gifts are.

Oh, I see why it reads that way but that isn't the reason that I do not wish to play with scooter: scooter threatening to quit the game when someone makes a smart play is a huge red flag to me. The city gifting I find distasteful but is a separate point.

Krill, keep in mind that all thes players fulfilled the PYFT obligation they *thought* they were signing up for sometime back 100 turns ago. this is triple overtime, i have a hard time blaming people for being exhausted mentally.
Also, he signed up with a teammate for a reason... dont be too hard on him.
