[PB 64] Ginger plays as Charlemagne, famed man of letters

Do you have a source for this? I thought for sure that they worked the same, dividing out when a tech is completed, then multiplied as appropriate for the next tech.

A very dated forums post  mischief
So not the best source, I'll run a world-builder test to verify.

I would be shocked if that overflow behavior was accurate.

Don't bother, that was how utterly worked in base bts but it was fixed in the 3 17 patch. The article predates even that ancient monstrosity.

Is this going to be episode 2 of "Geopolitical Lottery: Ginger lucks out"?

But this counts for more...

Smug Keep in mind though that I've got 67 gpt of wealth builds atm :/

Obligatory Moai

Will build Parthenon to reclaim mountain and hopefully the diagonal roaded-hill from Gavagai

Future HE city, Paya will complete happily in time to swap civics.

Will swap to hammer tiles when the tech for wonders comes online. Will build Great Library, then Nat Epic, then ToA. Should be all the Great People I can ask for, for the rest of the game. Priest can make a sad little 11 city Shrine and pray for foreign random spreads, Scientist can bulb GLH tech Optics and later Astro, more Engineers can... idk what I'll do with more engineers, probably keep on ice or run a second golden age to try and hit Banking.

Actually hits unhealth at growth yikes
First unhealthy city in PB64?! Pog?

I'm regretting not getting Monotheism for the golden age. I think that would've been the right play, especially considering the Parth build ended up being necessary to secure Embassytown

Gav canceled our gold for iron trade and resent his gold for 50g. I declined because as of last turn, I fixed all happiness issues with the HR revolt and my spare axemen lying around. Gav has 15 HA within 2 turn's march of my border so I'm delaying the Parth build to two-turn a Phalanx in Embassytown. I also set two of the cities previously on wealth to start grinding out more Phalanxes. Since both Gav and Commodore are running HA as their main hitters, it's a surprisingly efficient build. Even with Longbows just a click away via bulbing, I still like the Phalanx because it's just 35 hammers. It's no Praetorian, but it's a solid UU. What I'm unsure of is just how much will flashing Feudalism on my tech screen be a deterrent vs an incentive to attack me.

Gav did accept my crab for corn, so Pillars won't hit unhealth.
I sent Commodore an open borders request, because I don't care to fight, though maybe signaling weakness is the wrong move, idk. I need to survive one more 10 turn war-peace cycle and then I'll have cultural control of the choke-point jungle tile.

Not sure A) Comm will let me, or B) if we can do anything against Gav's Horcher stack without better tech.
Good news for SD is that Gav's tech is crippled, he's 7-turning currency with nothing but rep beakers to pull him forward. Bad news is that 15 HA hard counter SD's carefully curated Numidian stack

dubious.gif Are we in a message sending mood Comm? Maybe he's just on tilt, he's certainly playing quick turns to that effect, and I wouldn't blame him for being tilted. But why would he have given me peace earlier? noidea
In the event that he is paying attention, I bulbed Feud and will flash a PRO Longdong shortly. Really should've done this two turns ago so I could be in Vassalage, but oh well, I had some twisted logic to the effect why I shouldn't and now I have to live with the consequences. I think I can barely squeeze out Guilds within a couple turns of the golden age ending, so I probably will swap back into slavery.
Clearly collateral is for losers :P

To summarize my puzzlement at Commodore's intentions...
What does one want when they posture aggressively, giving forewarning and signaling displeasure, but don't actually take the fight?
He's not committing to building more units, because he is reliant on whip and not natural MFG. He's also showing the same 9 horse archers that were with his stack previously. That's old news, the single Elephant parade is new, yes, but not a game changer against LB or Phalanx.

It's clear he wants some kind of reaction from me. He wants me to be overcautious/provoke whipping/influence my civic choices to Slavery instead of Serfdom...
Idk
