Correct me if I'm wrong (would be a good learning expirience if I am ), but can't Jowy see that "real" staging tile? Two vision from the hill in his territory, and then the extra sight because the staging tile is a hill?

No, you only get a single +1 distance for a hill on either end. Hill-hill isn't 3. I'm pretty sure, anyway.

Jowy would need a sentry unit on the tiles 1, 41, or 21 of Sparta to see the staging tile. Not that it matters, because Jowy won't be able to get the spears back from Thebes to Sparta to stop the attack, but he could massacre the stack after he lost Sparta.

While I agree with you, that isn't entirely the point, it depends how the thread owner takes the comment. Personally I don't mind said comments when I'm playing, but if Whosit doesn't like it then it was over the line.

To see where Dantski really stands, and provide some extra security, we decided to take Dantski up on his offer of unit exchanges:

Dear Dantski,

You mentioned in our earlier conversation about loaning us some units, and we'd like to take you up on that offer. Would you be willing to lend us 5 units, 4 axes and 1 skirmisher? Jowy is rebuilding his army, we see athlete poking around in the seas to our west, and Whosit is still lurking to our east, so the units would help us feel more secure. We will replace the units (along with interest, throwing in a catapult or two) once the current dangerous situation passes.

My initial thinking is that Spulla (or just Sullla, can't quite tell) wants (a) Dantski to declare war on NaMoc and (b) Dantski to loan several units to the Indian Empire. I can't help but feel like they are setting themselves up to be disappointed by Dantski. And that's crazy after what he did just a couple turns ago.

Along these lines, Spulla seems paranoid about the NAP ending dates... that is just coincidence, right?

Yeah it is strange. First he tells Dantski all the time that war is bad then Dantski signs peace and now Sullla thinks it a mistake to be peacefull.
If Dantski had wanted war he would have continued with the war vs India.
Besides if he lends the Units he can't declare war. If he declares vs HRE he can't lend Units to India.
I think that Dantski will end up with no friends at all.

Yes I believe so. Afterall the peace with Dantski and the offer from Whosit all happened around turn 110 and 20 turns is just one standard number. So 130 is a natural ending turn.
