I'm still struggling to understand how and why this option is not available for him. Need to look back into the code for that. This is definitely a bug. I suspect the reason is that the religion is determined by the initial event that starts the quest. But this is totally stupid as you have a lot of time to change religions during the beginning and the end of the quest. I will investigate further. As for fixing this situation:

1. We need to randomly select 5 of Magic's cities and give those Judaism. Ramk can do that. The only thing I'm not sure of is if cities that already have Judaism could also be selected therefore reducing the amount of cities converted.
2. We need to communicate this to all players and should ask if this event is still active in their quest log since Magic didn't choose an outcome for the event.

Looked into the code. The randomly selected cities are only selected out of the non-state religion pool. And it looks like I was right and the religion is determined at the start of the quest line. Fixed for future versions.

This is so he understands that I mean no harm by briefly declaring war on him to enter his culture next turn. (Using Work Boats as explorers between training and improving never gets old). Yes, I could peacefully propose Open Borders, but that would be a lopsided deal. Pindicator has at most 3/6 foreign trade routes, and those would be from Gavagai, so he probably has 0. Meanwhile, I have no need for any filthy foreign trade routes. I am not about to give Pindicator 6 commerce per turn for nothing in return!

While I see the value in not giving free commerce away, you're not getting nothing in return: If nothing else, you're getting good will and possibly a safer border than you'd have otherwise, instead of enmity. It also doesn't cost you anything. You're also in desperate need of at least one neighbor that doesn't want to murder you.

AFAICT, Magic and Nauf have both announced they are waiting for Ginger to play, and Ginger didn't hint at any plans in his latest update. He's yet to play in 66 as well, so might just be busy.

He just researched Monarchy. Good for him. It's a very important tech on this map. Btw, why can I see the option to ask him to swap into Hereditary Rule but not into Serfdom? (He is not currently in Serfdom.)

I drop this here for naufragar to find later as the solution to this is a spoiler for him. Ginger hasn't researched Monarchy, but rather build the Pyramid. That's why he can adopt Hereditary Rule, but not Serfdom.

Would it be appropriate to have Pin remove his comment in the tech thread about "just declare war already". I mean he isn't wrong, but there is like a 2% Ginger doesn't know its coming....

Speaking of

EDIT: Annoying that this confirms my hostile designs at least half a turn in advance.

If it wasn't for the potential 3 way split he is just planning on attacking 1 city. I would actually want the first half here. I mean also he can't because he played 2nd half last turn, but still. Its a 1 pop city you can strike at from the fog. You want to get chariots there asap just in case there is a spear slowly making its way up. Now if he was attacking Mack that would be different.

Why did Ginger revolt? Did he NOT figure it out?

Speaking of not noticing things Gav evidently doesn't look at pbspy or doesn't think all Pins whipping is for him because his Praets are poking at Commodore. That will give Pin a better opportunity than he deserves. Only 1 forest chop and limited whipping PHAH.

I see no reason to reload, and I didn’t read Ginger’s post as a request to reload so didn’t realize that a reprobate response was needed. (Edit: autocorrect smoke )

Who cares that the land is brown? This is the dream for the "Monk" economy.

Well this aged poorly.

Without Mids pushing tech along this game might be similar to PB64 and turn into a slugfest. Does that favour nauf with his traits and UB?
