Don't want to gum up the game any more, but a needed question: do you need the Leader Pass DLC to play with someone who has it? Yongle is in the Leader pass DLC, and I don't own that (other players might not as well). I don't think I can roll the game either. I don't mind playing with a DLC leader I don't own, but I want to make sure it won't mess up the game

I think you'll need the Leaders pack even to play.

I'm not sure when each leader became available, but I can take someone other than Tokugawa.

It's my fault, I'm sorry. I should have asked in the setup thread what DLC was enabled. I just thought that based on the lack of interest in the old Civ6 general thread that people had not generally purchased the leader packs.

Am I the only one without the leader packs? If so, I might consider just buying them, since it would be good to have them for future games if they are set up.

I am fine either way. It was sheer luck that I went with an old leader.

On popularity, yeah that is always funny. I think CIV VI is a great game and CIV V was flawed but very good.
