Theres a heck of a lot of blood in the water. Also, Mjmd that might have been a bit soon go send that to Ginuelito.

Maybe bad ya. I thought maybe being reminded his opponent is crazy might be worth something.
It is from PB62 when I razed the Mids because I was in essentially a 2 front war even though I had peace with one side atm. Nauf managed to take himself from being one of the top contenders to having 2 cities by being antagonistic / not knowing when to stop being stupid. I kinda agree with him here though. He used his agg trait to weaken a long term rival but didn't get too over committed.
Yeah I'd have been extremely pissed at a moment I was already tilted, but eh. And no question, this seems like very good play from both Nauf and MS.
In other news, I'm very interested at Pindi's willingness to backstab Comm if Gav is too hard a target.

What on earth is happening with Superdeath? He got one of the best combos, with very green land, has been at peace all game, and is hanging out with Gavagai at the bottom of the scoreboard and the demos. Am I missing something??
Actually, his start is worth analysing a bit more closely.
![]() He has no hills so he is stuck gaining +1hpt for each pop he grew, working unimproved forests. So his only option for early game hammers was the whip and hence BW had to be pushed up the reserarch queue, and use the 140 hammers in forest chops to get the infrastructure set. SD rolled Mansa (Ouch) and Sumeria, so he was 1 tech from Pottery to open up easy double whips (but this start would really want to do triple whips if the happy problem can be solved). Mining/Fishing 74 beakers BW 179 beakers Pottery 119 beakers The start is easy to sim for BW second into Fishing, worker eot14, corn farmed T19, growth@2 eot20 (6 hammers into a workboat), growth@3 eot25 (16 hammers into a workboat). Mining eot7, BW eot20 (corn til T4, silk til T14, corn til T20 then corn and silk). In this scenario the question is do you want to whip a workboat that cannot be used for a few turns to start the whip unhappy clock, or wait a few turns to get closer to size 3 (difference is 3 turns working the silk). I think with a revolt Fishing lands eot28 and then Pottery eot34 without a revolt, but there are a couple of options. Below is what I would look at first: For example, worker can move T20, chop a forest T23, and chop again T27: It should be possible to land Fishing and immediately be working all improved food resources on T29, so might not even need to start an early revolt and/or whip. Assuming no revolt and Fishing eot28, (possible T27 due to overflow) that would be growth@4 eot30, growth@5 eot33, (growth@6 eot37), and Pottery eot34, eot35 with a revolt. That suggests a third chop would land T31 and a fourth T35 (slightly to fast so could finish a road), so if growth was stopped at size 4 working the corn, two clams and the silk, a settler would be at 42/100 eot32. As revolts don't matter due to SPI, it should be trivial to finish Pottery eot34, get the settler to 55/100 by eot35, and double whip it T36 with a chop to finish 143/100 and have a granary completed eot37 (so two chops for the workboats earlier, road a forest T30, prechop T32, move T33, chop T36 into settler, finish pre chop T37 to complete granary with a vaguely half full food box at size 2). This is better than what SD had, and this is just a first pass, I think there are other options which might be better. There is very little flexibility in this land though, hence the failure of SD to actually impact the game at all.
Gav looks to be knee capped st this rate. With his city number I can't see him surviving his capital being burned or captured.

Ya Pin getting PUNISHED for not committing to building / sending more forces. To note even in his tests he said he ended up with "successes" where he had to burn Rome. I have to imagine he could have gotten 1 extra HA there in time and AT LEAST 1 more skirmisher. But with a chop or two and 1 more whip he can take and hold Rome even through bad rolls.
On actually what happened, I would have been tempted to just spend the units burning Rome instead of Antium. Its a more valuable strategic raze and makes sure those forces can't promote and heal. Now he is going to have to build significantly more forces to come back again. |
