Now Speaker is doing it too. Yes you are saying that you don't want peace. You want peace only so long as it's convenient for you, and you are saying that even if you don't realize it. Jowy is smart enough to figure that out. India's natural road to expansion is to attack Jowy again once they have a tech edge, and both sides know that even if they won't admit it. Jowy is toast in the long run unless India agrees to an ironclad NAP or gets dogpiled from elsewhere again. Jowy knows it, but India won't give him credit for knowing it. Almost as if India is treating Jowy as a single-player AI, just there to hold the land until they're ready to conquer it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but India is treating everybody in this game just like a single player AI! The trouble is that their CIV knowledge and micro in a favourable rule set is so superior that they'll win anyway.

Speaker plays MP though so its somewhat surprising. However I wouldn't read into it too much given that Jowy is just there until someone rolls him over and there is no secret that India will eventually eat up Greece. He may have a few extra military techs but his economy isn't too great and he'll fall behind soon.
He gives his reasoning here about not being able to intervene on the Korean's behalf if Greece fights them:

So not signing a NAP gives him the ability to keep the alliance between India and Korea secret. The alternative is proposing an NAP with a termination clause incase of war with Korea.
Also isn't it funny to see Jowy use the same argument for letting him live that Regorise + Darrelljs was? To be a buffer state:

William, you're right. If this game had tech trading, then their diplomacy weaknesses would probably get them killed. Korea + Inca + India would have a hard time trying to match the original COW in research.
And IMHO, the diplomacy's the most interesting part of these games. They're completely missing that. If they want a no-diplomacy game, play the AI or a CTON.

India doesn't seem to grasp the fact that these players are all trying to win just as much as they are, rather than the AI which is just there to get in your way.

What are they supposed to say to Jowy? They don't want the NAP. There is no way to spin it, other than they'd like to keep their options open. It is quite frankly on Jowy at this point to justify why they should sign a long term NAP.

Is that a justification for the AI comment? It seems a little like a non sequentur, tbh.

The point is all the eye-rolling and Jowy bashing going on in India's thread about Jowy's responses. India gets frustrated when they can't use Jowy as a pawn, and Jowy's smart enough to realize India is doing this. The constant ranting about how other people aren't bowing down to them is getting old, and I'm nearing the point where I'll just stop reading...
In all fairness, I don't think they realize they are coming across this way, but I'm not sure it's anyone's place to tell them that. I'm not trying to degrade the two of them individually, I just find their thread distasteful sometimes...

Yeah, I'm sharing sentiments with Scooter, I'm kinda skimming all the diplo in the thread because its just complaining about everyone that is not plako. :-\
I think the problem is that they are being too critical of other people's games without knowing the reasons behind the decisions they disagree with. I mean, look at the other threads, they are more about the team's game plan rather than a critique of other people's actions. Spullla has instead gone for a critique as we go method like a SG so...
I doubt that the tone is intentional but it is off putting and comes off as arrogant sometimes. However, they can write whatever they want.
