RBP2 Lurker Discussion Thread - No Players!

That isn't acceptable. In a lurker thread, you should only ever comment on what has been posted in that specific lurker thread, not on what has been posted in other threads pertaining to the original lurker thread.

You may, of course, post anything in this thread, ask any questions.

Dantski already knew that his plan would already appear to have changed because of the PM's he already sent.

If this is not true (I have not checked his thread again) then all I can really do is ask for updates from him because anything can be unclear to him.

Have you done anything about the fact that some people only read the spoiler threads? It is not a rule to read this thread so those lurkers would have no way to know your feelings of the lurkers spoilering Spulla.

Don't know if its your intention but reading this post it sounds like you're trying to deflect criticism onto Krill instead of admitting a mistake was made.

Dantski's reply is a little cryptic (which oddly fits this game) but he doesn't seem to approve of what you posted either.

You are right I should have made two posts. I feel it is very important for people to know the rules. So one who only reads that thread will not know about Krill's feelings and keep on posting like nothing happened. This WILL happen unless Krill does something. It is not a rule to read this thread.

I think Dantski is annoyed about me spaming his thread because he does not like updating and not about spoilers.

agreed... poor jowy. I was rooting for him to see it coming and set up a good defense.

The "counter-rebel" move to not extend NAPs and keep opponents guessing is looking very prudent now. I wonder if this delays the attack on Inca, or at least keeps enough troops back to let slaze defind... well, defend at least part of his territory.

TBH trying to figure out what I can do short of asking for the threads to be locked, and all posts have to be run via an admin before posting. This entire forum set up is based on the idea of trust, and basic etiquette that some lurkers don't understand. I do feel that Ruffs lurkers rules of etiquette wasa very good start of what is and is not acceptable, however, there are still problems in there.

I think that in future the best way of making sure these problems don't happen is to use private forums; I trust the players to not need it, but I can't trust the lurkers when I don't know them and I know how vindictive and stupid the basest of our species can be. Require everyone to sign up to the forum, post that they want to lurk, and that they agree with a predetermined lurkers code of conduct.

Hey all- I'm new to this community, so maybe I'm just missing something, but how were Speaker and Sullla spoiled? I have been reading their thread for a few weeks now, and it seems that people ask questions about city placement and strategy... is that spoiling? Or did someone tip them off on something diplomatically? (I fail to see the latter b/c they didn't seem to see that 5 v 1 coming...).

Also, hopefully I wasn't 'spoiling' them by giving my opinion on city placement during a debate among the lurkers...

Now, that I think about it was a mistake. Even if there was a 1% chance he would not know it was still a 1% chance. The killer is that I chould have asked for an update from Dantski without giving any chances.

His PM's made it clear to me that he was acting differently. I think he guessed correctly about why I asked for an update. But a one % chance for no reason is not okay. So, I am sorry about this.

I am willing to get singled out if that what it takes to go on. But, I think Krill's statement above is caused mostly by Spulla being given an edge.

Lurkers said that Spulla's diplo messages were bad. This caused them to play better by changing their messages. This helped them cover up a weakness of theirs.

It should be noted that the messages where so bad that you did not need to by spoiled to see that. This makes it more of a suggestion than a spoiler.
