Welcome to the forums, Darkmantle! Nice to see another lurker delurked. I just thought I'd point out that these are the kinds of seemingly innocuous statements that shouldn't be posted in the player threads:

Okay so that explains why the GNP graph spikes up to 411 GNP even though no one is actually producing that much research.

Not a big deal, but many rivers small form a big waterfall.

I've moderated it in Sullla's thread (though can't guarantee that he or Speaker haven't already seen it.)

Darkmantle, we're always glad to have new participants, but you must be careful about anything you post in the player threads. As novice says, posting in Sullla's thread that no other team has 411 research is spoiler information that Sullla should not have.

Not a big deal, since your statement was tautologically true anyway (if the top GNP is 411, then by definition nobody has 411 research since some of the 411 GNP is culture and espionage). But consider this a notice to please be careful; perhaps you should stick to posting in just the no-players thread at first.

Damnit sooo easy to spoil when you are responding to a question >_< quite clearly Sulla shouldn't know that no one else has 411. I just assumed that the GNP graph I was basing that on was in his thread. As well as that GNP data was commonly known >_<

Well luckily given my incomplete knowledge I don't actually know if 411 was the top so it could be completely misleading information anyway.

Ah, but team spulla has graph view on everyone doesn't he? Because he posted the power graph and that included all of the teams in the game. So he can quite clearly see the top GNP without my spoilering.

Back to proper lurking then and being even more careful. I'm usually very careful, see my earlier post in this thread on how to completely not mention specifics when talking about something.

Is there any way to "observe" a game?

By this I mean enter the game and have visibility on everything, but with chat and other ways to contact the players disabled.

I think you posted about research, while the graphs which Spulla see show total net commerce. As an example, someone could have 500 research, 100 culture, -300 gold income. Their reported GNP graph value would be 300.

I didn't post research I posted the largest number I'd seen on the GNP graph which was 411. Highest research capacity of what info we have is Spulla on 375. Now I may have called it research, but it was just the GNP graph which is the only proxy the teams have for seeing other sides research before espionage. But by saying that no one was at that I indirectly stated that others weren't up to 411 which is the spoiler.
