RBP2 Lurker Discussion Thread - No Players!

I did like his turn reports though, those were sweet ^_^.

I wonder what Sulla will think when he finds out about Jowy's Civ4 experience...

To be fair though it was quite amusing when Sulla got all wound up at Jowy. Hopefully he will stick out the war since I can't really imagine any team will want the burden of extra cities right at the moment.

Yeah, somehow I can't see Kathlete wanting a 2 front war with India and Inca. yikes

And the maintenance for anyone else would be utterly crippling, I'd have thought?

Does anyone else think we should lay off the logistical theorizing in S/S's thread?

Now I understand that in practice, both of them probably have plenty of tactical experience and nobody is probably telling them anything new

But still, there exists that possibility that a lurker might come up with something that they haven't thought of, if not in this instance than in the future

My 2 cents...

It seems odd that Whosit hasn't commented on Jowy's city-gifting proposal. Has the email just not been sent?

Completely agree. i am sure they already have their own idea, but giving them other options (even worst ones) should be avoid (until they actually are out of date)

AFAICT the rules are still 1) no spoilers and 2) honor the players' requests in their own thread. Since they asked for guesses themselves, I don't see a problem. If you're saying you think the rules should be changed, I think you should say that straight out. Discussion about this is confusing enough anyway!

Yup.

to be honest, i dont see how thats a valid argument, they are getting spoilerish information by people activly giving tactical advice/ theroies in their thread. regardless if you think that was what they where asking for, doesnt make it right that they are getting aditional help from spoilt lerkers. personaly i took them asking for people to guess which city they where going after first, not "have a tactical debate on which city to attack first and explain in detail your reasoning so we can add your thorghts to our eventual plan of action"

I think what I am saying is that I feel like we, as a community of lurkers, should self-police ourselves and not give tactical suggestions to teams.

So I brought it up here to see if others felt the same way

Beamup Wrote:The Fast Workers road the hill NW of your main stack, which then moves NW-N to fork Athens and Corinth from the forest. Athens is probably the real target.

T-hawk Wrote:Corinth first (via roading the hill) would make for quicker logistics for the rest of the war. The main stack can sweep southeast while another army raised from the home cities goes for Athens. But the first target probably depends on which of Athens or Corinth shows less defense.

Ashain Wrote:Yeah but unless they have a lot more cats moving up from somewhere, or Athens is virtually undefended, they're almost certainly going to need the cats in the main stack for bombardment purposes on the capitol.

And this is a solid explanation why the above three posted shouldn't have been posted.

One day someone will slip and suggest something that they haven't considered.

If the posts above had been posted in this thread, that would have been fine though.
