[SPOILERS] Bismarck of Mali (NobleHelium and Lewwyn)

I mostly view the Wang Kong thing the opposite way. I don't want it to be like, "you were carried by FIN" or something. Maybe that's the wrong way of looking at it. That's what I meant by not really wanting to be the only FIN leader in the game. I definitely agree that it would have been a great choice too. If Huayna Capac had been available, I'd have taken him. :neenernee

That's why I thought we shouldn't have restricted any leaders. FIN/EXP, FIN/CRE, EXP/CRE, FIN/IND are pretty much equal when they're all the players in the game. But they didn't want to play FIN leaders, I guess.

So basically I wanted FIN to punish them. And you didn't want FIN so they couldn't say we won cheaply. Thing is they were egging us into it all high and mighty. Would have been mighty satisfying.

Guess we're not getting the save for a while. If you get the file while I'm at work, can you post a screenshot of the starting location here? I might be able to pop in to check and comment. We definitely should wait until I get home from work before sending the save on.

Here's our start. We have time since we have to wait for Krill to fix the Carthaginian starting techs.

Obviously, we settle in place. That was easy.lol

Well our starting techs are Agriculture and Mining... Obviously we were Chinese in a past life. These are better than our Mining and Wheel techs given that we start with a corn there. So maybe we don't remind Krill to fix them when he fixes the others? lol

Also I have to say I'm not a huge fan of our start. Just too many water tiles and no good alternative city site. We could move 1 E and settle, but all that would do would take us off our plains hill, waste a riverside grass and put two peaks into the capital BFC. Additionally moving North appears to waste forests and again waste our PH. I see no option but to settle in place with only 7 land tiles, ugh.

Finally got a chance to post a lengthy message here.

I think we could make a pretty good case for getting China's starting techs, considering you're in China and I'm Chinese. lol:neenernee

So the most disappointing part of this start is that there are only four forests. That's a lot of sea, obviously, much more than I expected, but mostly I was hoping for a substantial number of forests for chopping out wonders. lol There's no point in moving off since we'd just be trading water tiles for peak tiles, yeah. The other part is that there are no 2H tiles in the inner ring, so we're not going to get the EXP bonus until borders expand. That sucks too.

One thing we can consider is executing a rarely-seen capital move. The Palace is cheaper for us anyway, since it's a wonder.

First things first though, we need to be sure that we actually got the start that was intended for us. It's not out of the question that the starts may have been messed up along with the techs. I'm sending a PM to Krill about it now.

Thanks, Krill. wink

Right then, looks like the obvious moves are settle in place, start worker, research Agriculture. Warrior to the NE?

Actually, warrior N looks best. We can defog the coast tile then go NE. East looks like lots of peaks, we can scout that later. And maybe we'll find another seafood and be tempted to move, but even then probably not.

Warrior N, NE is fine. Borders will expand anyway just pick north or east I suppose.
