RBP2 Lurker Discussion Thread - No Players!

Krill Wrote:Sullla very rarely appears to think outside the box wrt Diplomacy.

I think Sullla mentioned that they were building it, but because he is more focussed on other things, he hasn't gone over it as yet.

Krill Wrote:Because he hasn't thought of it. And on that note, no lurker should suggest that (ie, poster that reards this thread)

That's in interesting way of interpreting that agreement. I somehow doubt either team meant "for the entire rest of the game, even when it's down to two teams and it's impossible not to spend EP on you".

It was just an agreement to stop, not to never start again.

I felt like it was a pretty clear violation of rule 3a - lurkers should not suggest options the players have missed. Granted, I don't like the rule, but it's the rule.

Edit: and what Shoot the Moon said

It was the fact that Krill (the game admin) specifically said not to say that.

I thought Krill was talking about that specific proposal to be honest, but I stand by what I said earlier - how can "think outside the box" be a spoiler? It's not actually suggesting anything, and definitionally can't lead the player anywhere he couldn't already go.

But whatever. If something that innocuous can get this kind of reaction, then you should just ban posting in the player's threads.

How hard can it be to follow some pretty simple guidelines / rules? When you visit a place, be it a physical place such as someones house, or a virtual place such as this forum it is really the polite thing to follow whatever rules exist in said place. If you have a hard time understanding that, that's another issue....

Whether or not you agree with the rule you got to follow it.

You may not agree on the 65 mph speed limit on highways, but you still have to follow that rule too wink

IMHO this agreement undoubtedly expired when kathlete declared war on Spullla wink

I'm with Banshee. No pre-existing agreements survive a war declaration unless specifically agreed otherwise.

If we are the last ones to end our turn, and India is still on their current research level, we DO NOT WHIP but flip the turn over (India will still not have Nationalism next turn). If we whip now, and India couldn't get Nationalism anyway by next turn, we will have depleted some advantage of our golden age. Our TWELVE turn golden age. Obviously if India switches their research back, or DOESN'T end their turn and we can't finish the turn after they do, just whip.

DMOC is busily making absolutely certain to get Taj with minimum loss of population, and Sullla thinks he is being an idiot. rolleye

Heh. I'm kind of glad that they'll lose the race for Taj. Might teach them not to underestimate the other teams so much.
