It'd be nice if he posted to share his strategy... but the lack of posting along with the mass abandoning gives the impression that he's checked out.

Anyone going to place bets on how long it takes Speaker to cool off? I find his rants entertaining though, so I'm hoping he just gets angrier and angrier as the game goes on.

I find the China vs. Ottomans discussion going on in another thread quite amusing, though. Something tells me there are other issues fueling that debate.

You need to make some random ruling that is blatantly unfair and in Nakor's favor. That would give you at least another week.

It doesn't have to be blatantly unfair... Just ask speaker to follow the rules the tiniest bit.

Again, I don't understand. Fortified units in a city with cultural bonuses or walls easily have a +100% combat bonus. Some of those cities were on hills. That means even a longbow has a reasonable chance of getting a kill, and a janissary has odds. Of course that's only against the first attacker. Then the unit is toast, but I would rather face one unit with some extra experience towards a promotion than two units.
What better use will Athlete have for longbows anyway? They won't be effective in a mass defense because then catapults will be sacrificed to pick them apart, and they won't be able to counterattack effectively.

Were you happy with how Exploit defended in RBP1? He made us fight for every city, placing 4-5 infantry inside each one.

It is true that he did do this, but it wasn't very effective - mostly just caused us to spend siege and/or lose the occasional attacker at good odds.

Righto, and my question is whether Erick the Red thinks Athlete would suffer any different of a fate.
Note I'm not saying I think the current "defense" plan is good either, I'm just curious what people think Athlete should do.
