Is it worth asking what India would think is a fair punishment? I get the impression they're not going to be happy with anything worse than a token slap on the wrist.

P.s. I do see good reason for their objections, but also see evryones point about the rules. It's a real doozie of a problem, I sure don't envy krills position here

Care to explain the good reason? I'm interested in reading if, at least to have the other side of the argument.

Speaker has already said in the email to Nakor, 100 gold (which Nakor said no to...) which is a second reason why I had to intervene.

Krill Wrote:TBH, if any player wants to say they won't follow the rules, the remaining players in that game only have 3 options:

  1. Accept that they aren't bound by the rules and play on,
  2. Pull down the game, replace them, and play on with a new player
  3. End the game.

Those three options can only be decided on by the players themselves, no one else can do anything about it. Luckily this game is basically over, so if it stops now, no big deal.

The community then has the option to play with that player again, or bar them from any other games that the community starts.

Quoted for emphasis.

With hindsight, you jumped too fast on insisting a reload.
Should've just requested the game be paused while you spoke to Nakor.

But your point of view, and eventual solution (continue with loss of units) are entirely reasonable.
Not sure about the amount of units, but that's negotiable stuff.

It's a shame DMOC isn't around, I think the outcome to this dispute might have been different.

Edit: I think in the end, it can be summarised as this:

Speaker/Sullla don't think they've done anything wrong.
Nakor thinks something is wrong, but is unsure to what degree he was affected by it.
Slaze and Plako don't really have a clue what's going on.

Until Speaker/Sullla understand how seriously (or not, depending on your pov) they've broken the turn rules, they won't accept any kind of significant penalty.

Probably the idea that the effect on gameplay was marginal while the punishment is harsh and likely to be much more significant.

I imagine that there would also be some accusations of personal bias, and disagreements with the nature of the rules and their enforcement.

To me that read like a joke. If an unbiased lurker were to ask we might see some more realistic answer.

Question re: Impact on Gameplay vs Punishment - What is the hammer difference? My understanding is that India got to kill X hammers worth of units unfairly and is being asked to forfeit Y hammers. My belief is that Y < 2X. If that's true then the punishment certainly isn't much harsher than called for, right? I mean, at minimum Y = X, right?

Rifle + 4 cannons = 510 hammers
7 cav = 840 hammers

840/510 = 1.647

Passing no judgement on the fairness of the ruling, I would like to take this opportunity to say "I told you so". Krill wasn't pausing the game this long to meekly let it continue...

@athlete, no it was more directed at Jowy.

7 Cav may be too much... However, I don't think Spulla would take any reasonable compermise. You should explain why 7 Cav is needed because you should try anyway.

As far as I can see, Spulla is accusing Krill for holding up the game by enforcing the rules, while they seem to be doing the same by refusing to follow Krill's ruling. @ Krill, I have to say I agree with you mostly, although deleting 7 cavalry might be a little harsh. And while Spulla is coming up with a few good arguments, they are being undermined by immaturity. I think a lot of people will be happy when this game is finally over. bang
