PB13 Signup thread

Fintourist and I would like to grab a slot, but I'll need to go practise on RBmod a bit, so happy to delay the start of this game until Biggers inevitable victory in PB8 is confirmed.

I'd rather play random-leader play-the-hand-you're-dealt than a snake pick, but it's not a strong preference, No Tech Trading and AI diplo are more important to me. Not sure about my team mate's views yet...

Here is a settings list from an old game, can you clarify which settings RBmod takes care of and which we need to decide Krill? Perhaps a post for each letter would be appropriate?

Things to decide Wrote:a) Diplo: AI-diplo / normal diplo / weird scout-related diplo rules
b) Picking Method? Snake Pick / Random generation / Balanced by mapmaker
c) Map-Type: Torroid / Cylinder / Other (size is dictated by sign-ups)
d) Starting Screenshots in thread before picking? Yes /no
e) Game Speed: Quick / normal / marathon
f) Unit/city gifing rules: No unit gifting at all, no city gifting apart from it being part of a peace deal / Cheese it up
g) Tech Trading: Off / On with tech brokering / On without tech brokering
h) Events: On / off
i) Barbs: On / off
j) Difficulty: ?

Things RBmod takes care of Wrote:k) Huts: On / off
l) GSpy: Normal / GSpies only for settling or starting a GA. No Infiltration
m) Scout-Starts: Yes / no
n) Banned are: Nukes / WE / Corporations / SoZ / Spies / GLH

Would like to play, solo, except if someone really wants to team with me. Don't care much about settings, but would prefer kind of random as well for leaders/civs (as I don't need to think about it in that case).

Well it's looking like there will be at least 8 teams, and probably more than 10 depending on if people decide to team together just on the sign ups already done. I'm not closing signups, but I would expect a map size of huge on Big and Small map script to be necessary to accommodate the number of teams.

Already accounted for. Once we have closer to settled down on the number of players I'll start rolling maps.

Once the number of players is kinda finalised I can throw up a quick Guide to what needs to be decided. The mod specific things are listed below.

Things RBmod takes care of Wrote:k) Huts: On / off - cannot pop any tech after Writing or BW, check the changelog for specifics. This setting is different to base BtS.
l) GSpy: Normal / GSpies only for settling or starting a GA. No Infiltration - Spies are nerfed, espionage tech costs are different to base BtS (or will be for the new version of the mod)
m) Scout-Starts: Yes / no - spy start by default.
n) Banned are: Nukes / WE / Corporations / SoZ / Spies / GLH - all changed in the mod, corps completely removed.
o) Blockades: On / Banned - can only blockade 1 tile around the blockading ship.
p) Diplo (AP / UN) victory: Off / Diplo victory enabled (so AP/UN can be built) but only abstaining is allowed as vote. - No different to base BtS.

Personally, I don't think that any of this stuff needs to be banned (although I can see the argument that CV ought to be banned due to social reasons (Bigger don't shoot me!)). GLH is nerfed to only give 1 trade route, WE are weaker at strength 7, spies only see the tile they stand on, Nukes don't kill units (basically through away collateral units) but we need to discuss the cost of ICBM, tac nukes and guided missiles because they are probably too expensive. SoZ is basically an entirely different wonder with no WW effect as well.
