[NO PLAYERS] The Kibitzer Klub: PB13 Map & Lurkers

They are wildly different, which IMO is a good thing.

I think its unfamiliarity more than anything else, but time will tell. Both clearly think certain traits are better, just not the same traits.

I think that I agree with scooter, that the land lottery has a much larger impact with the new trait balances, and having traits that fit the land influences any rankings that a player creates too much to make the rankings of any use. FIN on an island start could really be viewed as stronger than base BtS with the cheap banks, if you don't cottage much, but then you have all the draw backs of the island start.

Still yuris with cheap Hammams should be fun to watch. 50 hammers for 2 happy, 2 health?

I have to say, this map is going to make for a hell of an interesting game. That's all I can say without spoiling too much.

Also, I didn't intend for some of the tiles that hve mismatching resources and terrain, but I was looking at it with balance glasses instead of natural script goggles. If it isn't a big deal then I'm not going to worry about it, and there should be few of those instances anyways.

Well as everyone expected, the super spammer trio has the highest post count, but surprisingly Old Tourist are in second by a good margin, and seem to be doing a lot of groundwork sandboxing, a good sign.

I'm somewhat biased towards them I must admit, I think they're really likely to do the best out of the group of relative "newbies" that we have here and I'm going to be kinda rooting for them probably. :P

Can someone tell me the reason why all these teams are saying not to select a tech until 5 turns in? I'm missing something here.

You don't lose beakers from not choosing a tech to research through the first five turns, so it's for maximum flexibility I assume. Prevents wasting beakers if you get super lucky and pop a hut in the first five turns for the tech you were going to research anyway. Unlikely, but it's a zero cost move so why not do it, I guess. Just don't forget on T5 to pick a tech, if that happens I think the AI picks one for you and all your stored beakers from T0-4 could get spent on the wrong tech.

Holy cow! (sorry...) First, the cow 2W1S of the settler was ninja-edited. Otherwise our start wasn't strong enough maybe? It didn't seem that bad to me, but maybe everyone is getting really high food starts here.

Umm...... I don't remember putting that extra cow there, he certainly didn't need it. That might have been a misclick when I was going through with luxuries I suppose.
