I agree, but it also seems like IKZ don't have all that much time to devote to the game, especially diplomatically.

Names matter. The big guns are also the first ones to get ganged up on. IKZ aren't that.

Playing both sides is what Sullla was trying to do with Dantski and Jowy telling both factions that they would be settling towards the other and then telling both factions that he would consider attacking the other or whatever. The other example was the Byzantines trying to bargain with the Ottomans to let them live by offering to sell out Spullla despite being nice to Spullla.
Kathlete is playing people off against each other by exploiting what people's concerns to deflect attention away from themselves and onto Spullla. So was rego but it requires people to have a existing concern. It doesn't work when your target doesn't care about what you're trying to do.

Where exactly did Sulla do that? All they've done diplomatically is get NAPs with both, and agree to no pink dot maneuvers (which they haven't done). I never saw anything in their emails where they said they would settle the other way or attack the other.

Looks like we all are going to be transfixed from turn 95 onwards! Unless their 'White Dot' negates the NAP, though Jowy has planted a terribly obvious and stupid city it seems.
Bring on the wars to end all wars (or more likely start!)

Look back towards the beginning of their game after Dantski planted his first city.

Hmm, is this the exact msg you inadvertently posted in spulla's thread?
Reason i ask if if sullla or speaker have email notifications enabled (which i would expect them to have), then they get emailed when somebody posts in their thread. this email includes the original msg as it is sent instantly.
What i'm attempting to say is the chances are one of the two would have read your msg, despite the edit.

Its not that spoilerish and I've written dumber things. :-\
Quote:Hey all,
Sorry for taking a while to chip in. I've been waiting for India to accept a NAP, but I think it's pretty clear now that their NAP offer to me is just a decoy and their real goal is to attack me once they've signed NAPs with each of you. While 24 turn military build up might sound good from your point of view, it also means that India will have 24 turns to eliminate me...
Also, is it me or does Jowy like to make self-fulfilling prophecies?
-"Byzantine didn't like me and were plotting against me" -> Byzantine hates Jowy now and is plotting against him because he wouldn't help them at all.
-"Spullla has no intentions of working with me and will eventually declare war on me" -> Spullla is sick of dealing with Jowy and wants to kill him much sooner than what they were planning because Jowy is being dumb.
-"Spullla will probably have 10 cities by T100" -> They might plant 1 more citie and probably take three of his and burn down the stupid city because Jowy pissed them off.
I can't say I will miss him much when Greece is painted Purple.

I can only apologise if this turns out to be spoilerish - I am unfamiliar with how to do quotes so I clicked 'quote' on Spulla thread and forgot to copy paste it into a reply on this thread! I edited it as soon as I noticed - which was about a minute.
Once again apologies for my noobishness
