Well, the first reason would be to give all your vampires shield of faith.

I'm not sure on the second. Building temples would be my first choice.. but if you're not spreading the religion...
Upgrade to Druids? Earthquake isn't a horrible spell. Although crown of brilliance or summon balor are both better.
Using them as medics? Seems redundant given that vampires can cast regenerate.
Acting as lures for assassins perhaps?

EDIT: Thought they were priests. Duh.

Assassin lures seems more likely then.

What, really?

I suppose I would if we agreed to coinflip for which side of the turn divide it ends on.

But I don't get it. What advantage is so huge?

Being able to strike first in war is huge in FFH, where things like Collateral and speed often decide the day. So if you have a NAP ending on T200, the player first in the turn order will always get the first chance to annihilate your army, etc.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

This. I have essentially 5 range on attack (without Commando). I can do significant damage before he has a chance to respond.

Ah, I see. Well, that doesn't really affect early game NAPs.

2. I will use Ritualists for that.

I should mention I settled seven cities over the last few turns.

Rushing governor's manors in the new cities?

Did you confuse Thanes with Solders of Kilmorph? Thanes are the disciples, can't be used to rush production like old school Caravans/Crawlers.

Opps, yeah, I've got nothing then.
