I can tolerate annoying, but ruining the game is an entirely different story. Don't feel bad. We started dealing with this crud at least as far back as the Cultural Extermination games. For instance, I still remember this gem of a post http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.p...stcount=18
Anyways, I took my own shot at knocking some sense into him:

But you've shown in clear detail that you have absolutely no ability whatsoever to understand the limits of what is acceptable to post.
These pitboss games represent what may be a year+ of effort for over a dozen players. This is thousands of hours playing civ. Please please respect that time commitment and restrain yourself from posting anything that anyone could consider the least bit spoilerish, no matter how clever, subtle, or insightful you think it may be.

Jowy Wrote:I don't have too much faith in CoW, but it's my best bet atm. I knew India was gonna be tough, but not this tough! Our double-team attack at turn 85 would have failed miserably. Anyway I haven't completely ruled out aligning with India instead, depending on the circumstances.. Right atm it'd be a dumb move, but maybe later on in the game if this whole CoW thing fails.
Can Jowy stick to any decision? He seems to be much too cagey in his operations, and if he thinks that Spulla are going to diplomatically align with him then he is seriously mistaken. With his foolish last city, he has pretty much had his choice made for him.
I reckon if Whosit or Athlete/Kalin got wind of these thoughts they might rethink their 'CoW' participation.

Question - is it a spoiler if I (or sunrise or darrell) tell Sullla the results of our last battle? I was talking it over with sunrise and we weren't sure. Hard to distinguish between regoarrarr the player and regoarrarr the omniscient lurker.
Obviously we wouldn't tell them anything about the CoW or any of the spoiler info we've learned in the thread, but it seemed at least to me that there would be no harm in telling him the results of the battle or even the map information we were able to figure out (like there was a marble to our south).
I'm torn because I want to help them because they were the only team that was nice to us really (though in large part the other teams' not-niceness was our own fault) but don't want to be spoilery.
So I thought I'd post here to see what other folks think.

Interesting question! The approach that I have been taking in my pbem dealings with Sooooo has to been to refer to him in-game as Greece. This means India's feelings towards Greece will not spill over into Ruff v Sooooo.
Using this approach, Byzantium dealings with Spullla India have been in-game. Byzantium knew what was going to attack them and could fairly shoot off a communication to India regarding what they saw looking over their walls. However, now Byzantium is dead. I don't think that Byzantium can send a communication from the grave with post battle information.
You (regoarrarr) certainly can communicate with Spullla ... but you have now reverted to the role of lurker and, as such, the information that you gained while you were Byzantium shouldn't be shared.
Just my 2c.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Just a followup to my C&D questions in sullla's thread. I checked around and it was in fact IKZ who built the warrior (quechua) on T5. So just goes to show that you can't figure out everything!!!

It's in game information that he doesn't know necessarily and would need to figure out on his own so yes I'd say it's definitely spoiler information since you're out of the game you no longer are an active player that should be sharing information. At least that's how I see it.
If you're eliminated then you're out completely. No hanging on to try and help people you liked by sharing some information that you didn't or couldn't share while you were in the game.

I tried to write a detailed post and got stuck, but the gist of it was this: You aren't part of the game once the team is destroyed, in which case any actions that you would have done as a player are no longer available. Sending the email with the infomation before you had died (if hte attack had been in 2 parts for instance) would have been fine, but sending it after the fact is a little iffy...
Again, that's my 2c. So long as the rules are enforced evenly it should be OK.
Edit: Darrell is correct. To go deeper into the strategy it is a trade off that the attacker makes, attacking quickly and guessing or slowly and simming it out, which means it's the attackers decision on what to do.

No, you could have before you were out but you missed your chance and now you're dead Have to live with the fact you chose not to at the time. No reaching out from the grave to try to affect the game imo.
