They don't know what died in the attack though. Sullla could probably figure it out by knowing that Whosit is now the most powerful civ and hence x amount of soldier points were lost. That would mean that sullla is using a skill to gain infomation instead of being given it, and I'm always in favour of people using skill instead of getting a free ride

Plus it's always possible he makes a mistake or just has doubt on his calculations which could change how he plays compared to knowing for 100% from being told.

No reaching out from the grave to try to affect the game imo. For what it's worth (absolutely nothing), I agree with this. I think the minute you get the "your civilization has been destroyed" message, you are a lurker, not a player, and you can only say things that are fair for a lurker to say, rather than things another player could say. scooter Wrote:For what it's worth (absolutely nothing), I agree with this. Okay that seems pretty unanimous so I will go with it. Thanks everyone! No reaching out from the grave to try to affect the game imo. Once again the consensus is clear, but I totally disagree. Firaxis designed things so that a dead team doesn't get kicked to the main menu, but rather still has access to all kinds of info. I think it's very questionable to say that they didn't foresee this situation when they specifically allow certain things (using the in-game chat feature, viewing past combat results) in-game. My view is that the Byzantine team still has access to all of the info we acquired in game. However we shouldn't share it with any team based on anything they post in their forums, because we're spoilered on the question side of things, not on the information side. So, since we would never know Sullla or whoever wanted X piece of info, he wouldn't otherwise get the answer unless we were reading his thread and hence it's a spoiler. Therefore my own belief is that if a team were to email us unprompted and ask us a question as team Byzantium we could then respond with our in-game knowledge. sunrise089 Wrote:Once again the consensus is clear, but I totally disagree. It seems to be a matter of opinion. Clearly, if Firaxis designed the game in a way that allows a dead team to still have access to the game and information, there is not inherent reason why a team could not share information. The argument against seems to be more from a strict thinking that a destroyed civilization is dead. This makes sense to me, though you could also argue that some remnant of the old Byzantine government escaped the sacking of their capitol, live as refugees and could still be queried. The community seems to have spoken, but it could really go either way depending on point of view. sunrise089 Wrote:Once again the consensus is clear, but I totally disagree. If you want to follow that line then why not play 'guess the admin password' and use commands and cheats to win because it's in the game so it's meant to be used however you see fit. Plus there are plenty of legit reasons for those features to be there beyond sharing information after you're eliminated. So instead I log in and use the chat feature. I don't really intend to make this a big issue, since I bow to consensus like regoarrarr did and because I agree that responding to anything in a thread is spoilerish, but I don't buy the argument that Firaxis allows in-game chat after you've been eliminated but doesn't intend for people to then chat about the game.

http://i916.photobucket.com/albums/ad8/d...erview.jpg As you can see from the dotmap that dsp posted giving the AK city sites, the barb city crowds out the other AK cities, but is not incompatible with them. i'd probably just move the northern city 1W and turn it into a cottage city, then plant the other two. Send out the HA to capture it and you can easily use that city to populate the area... I suppose that is one of the reasons I like the map with so much food: dot maps are not set in stone (ie you have to plant Endor/Paris on a specific tile for gold and food making it the only reasonable play). Olodune, you did a great job on the map |
