The Seven Samurai- A Most Honorable Competitive SG

Psst, you should make deals with the other players, promising to give them good promotions in return for good ones on yours. wink

The honorable save:

The honorable report will be made tomorrow, because I'm very tired (I'm giving up to Sloth... Ah! I'm so low and I'm so far away from the right path... What will be made of Matahacibod, the worthless?).

For now, rest in peace, because all the honorable Samurai are alive.

Turnset 3:

So, first thing I did was change our research to BW from pottery. If we are going to farm everything, I don't see the benefit of pottery. Than I ordered our friend Toku to do the same:

Everyone knows how to do this? It'll be pretty useful during this game.

And here's how the 7 samurai looked at the beggining of my turnset:

My turn was mostly walking with the Samurais towards a lot of different places. I killed a good number of animals, scouts and some archers. Most of the battles were >99%, but there were some key ones too...

Thestickaze Kouhei came across a lightly defended Egyptean capital. It was the chance of razing a city and making a name for himself. Maybe then he could settle down as a kenjutsu instructor and get a wealthy number of kokus per month as his payment.

So he bravely did it:

Oh, shit! 0,3 health. With sure death approaching him, Thestickaze grabbed his katana with his teeth (with 0,3 health I think both his arms and legs are broken) and waited to try and take as many opponents as possible with him.

But just when his eyes were closing, his body fainting, he heard a distant call, in the form of a haiku:

Quote:Two archers stand
Watching each other stand
Dumb AI

Yup, he survived. I promoted him to combat 2 and started coming back to our capital. It would take too long for him to heal there.

In more light hearted news, Sareln Katayama made a kill streak against Mongolian scouts:

Seriously, I killed 3 in a row. When I finished the job in one, they placed another one close to Sareln. Stubborn AI. Sareln killed all of them without a scratch.

---

As for Hon'iden matahachibod, he was very embarassem that he had almost led his companion to death. He needed to prove his worth. But the chances against the HRE capital were too low. He cowardly ran away...

When he was preparing for his Seppuku, he saw a chance of redemption. The stupid Charlemagne was taking some of his protective archers to a field trip. Matahachibod attacked:

Score!

But his debt was still not payed. He needed to an even bigger act of bravery.

And then he saw it:

Prague, the holy city of the pagan hindu gods was protected by only one warrior (archer). Matahachibod was still wounded due to his fight in the woods against the archers... But it was not time to run away... He needed to do that or at least die trying...

He did it!!! Unfortunately, Katayama-san photobombed our poor Matahachibod SS of glory, so you can't see how much wounded he is.

The samurai at the end of our turn:

I gave leadership to everyone that could get it. The second promotions varied, but most samurai got the one that gives a second movement point (because it's pretty useful).

Our beautiful city:

Shouldn't that be rice? Where will the koku come from? Corn???

SPOILER! DON'T LOOK PLAYERS

I have no idea about what to do to win this. I was just killing stuff that crossed my path. It's pretty fun!

If we made a conscious effort, we could probably win this, just with the initial units. But, whatever, I want to die a glorious death!

SPOILER FOR ALL PLAYERS - DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE A SAMURAI!!!!!! (or an actor!)
I played this out a bit after creating the map and managed to eliminate 2 AI's without losing a unit. I did not send them off willy-nilly as has been demonstrated here but had a group of 4 and a group of 3 head off in 2 directions. Of course - I knew the map and where the AI was...

I then re-assmbled the group as a 7 and managed to kill a 3rd AI for the loss of 1 Samurai. I figured it was key to zerg as much as possible before there were axemen defending cities.
Well, Bobiro is an actor, not a samurai, so maybe he can read it. lol

Thats pretty brave of you to take the 73% combat, I chickened out of it

Spoiler for players
I didnt think too hard of the tech I selected as it finished my turn. The reason for pottery however was for a granary.

Bronze working you get for troops (and slavery i guess), but I would park a samurai or 2 in and have done with it, hence didnt see the rush for that.

Thinking maybe too long term but I would leave all the forests alone too for the health, then just lumber mill or preserve them later, hope the otehrs dont start chopping as it will a. limit the health of our city and its size, and b. drop the production on a food rich, production poor city

Don't you like how this game allows you to be a bit silly?
More people have been to Berlin than I have.
